Wow didn't think this would happen. Wonder how they'll handle the back touch pad. I guess you could do it like the vita tv with the analogs + a button.

I just hope they can figure out a workaround to make the application run in 32 bit mode without affecting other homebrew. like adding another override key

Interesting. Would it be possible to do the same for the PS3? The PS3 CellOS, like the Vita OS, is also based on FreeBSD and NetBSD. Theoretically it should be possible. Would be pretty damn neat.

This is not a OS port, it has to do with both being the same architecture (ARM) and that it's basically backwards compatible with Vita's executables (again, architecture wise)

PS3's CELL is a PowerPC architecture. Vita is 32-bit ARM architecture. Switch is 64-bit ARM architecture which is backward compatible with 32-bit ARM instruction set thanks to Aarch32. This is why Vita to HOS wrapper is possible.

I can't wait to install HENkaku Enso on my Nintendo Switch, I wonder if I'll be able to spoof my firmware version so I can access PSN and the Vita store.

This is only for apps. That would require the entire system and even the Vita's WebKit to run the exploit. That's waaaaay out of the scope of this project.

Genuinely never expected to see a project like this pop up and I'm super excited to see where it might go, especially once someone begins implementing a GPU renderer/wrapper of some sort. With this, the Android AArch64 .so loader used in the Max Payne switch port, projects like Box86/64 on Linux, and a little bit of polish on them all, the future is looking real bright for the Switch emulation community!

People, you're not reacting enough. Some crazy motherfucker has made a way to NATIVELY RUN VITA APPLICATIONS ON SWITCH.

FUCKING NATIVELY.

this is the craziest dream i've ever had
they say there's no such thing as stupid questions, but if someone asked if vita games would ever run on switch two days ago i'd have roasted them with the flames of the sun itself

Xerpi has added this to the readme:

This is still in very early stages and therefore it can only run very simple CPU-rendered PlayStation Vita homebrews.

There is very initial 3D graphics support (it can run vitasdk's GXM triangle and cube samples by hardcoding _vita2hos_'s GLSL shaders to match the Cg shaders the samples use).

and i know what you may be thinking, "why become an adult at 21? doesn't that mean that banging an 18 year old would be illegal?"
first of all, being in a relationship with someone who's 18 is technically ok, as long as it started when they were 18, but the age gap is still weird depending on how old you are. besides, the age of consent differs between different states

  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
also my reasoning for adult age being 21 is because the reason that's the drinking (and now smoking) age is because it "gives them more time to think rationally and not drive drunk"
so you should have that extra time to mature and think rationally before going to serve in the military or vote
    +1
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
tl;dr the "adult" age and the legal drinking age (and voting age) here in the US should be the same

It's all good no one pays attention to the law anyway lol
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
What about making kids wait till 18 or 21 to drive? And yea is messed up, you can join army and die for your country at age 18, but you can't drink alcohol or smoke a cig til 21, is ridiculous

  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
If someone is in the military they should be allowed to smoke and drink at 18.... Would help drive recruitment lol
    +3
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
We all know they do and will anyways. I think laws prevented them only pushes them to illegally do it. Even tho if was legal, most prob wouldn't even bother. Not a big deal or risque if its legal, no fun.

That's why some kids don't mind having a rap sheet or two just so they never get drafted

  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
also, i think the voting age should match the adult and drinking ages too, because by the logic of giving them time to mature and think rationally so they don't drive drunk, then they should also have that time to mature and think rationally so they can think for themselves
