download driver genius pro (pirated). it will find, dl, and install all your drivers for you.

i have a question about this program i went to the site and it says "Driver Genius Professional can manage your PC to get 100% up to date Drivers and optimize PC performance. Driver Genius Professional is a powerful driver manager for Windows that can backup, restore ,search and update your drivers automatically with only a couple of mouse clicks!"

what i want to know is will this program also fix up a computer with these problems unable to do error checking and also unable to format.ok one more thing there is corrupted windows files like desktop.ini i believe its a windows file.

if it can't do this its not really a problem i'm glad you mentioned the program because all the problems i'm looking to fix are for my friends windows xp.i'm going to try this program for myself see if i find any problems on my own computer.

sorry if this is off topic to the thread.

QUOTE(luke_c @ Nov 3 2009, 09:17 PM) Maybe you need to update your WLAN card's drivers?

Exactly

Boot into XP, see what your WLAN card or LAN is, open up the respective manufacturer's website, search for the VISTA driver. Then boot into vista install it, and then restart, and voila it should work.
Yeup thats the way I would do it. Why? cuz pirated software should always be your last resort and you still have many options to choose from. Specifically, what you need to do is Boot XP, Start --> Right Click "My Computer" --> Click "Properties" --> "Hardware" Tab --> Device Manager --> Open "Network Adapters" Tree

From there you should see a working network adapter since you booted into XP. Google the name of the adapter as well as the terms "vista driver" next to it. If you can choose your manufacturer's site from the search list. If you don't know which one to choose, bring the name of the adapter back here and I guarantee you, myself or another Temper will find the driver for you and direct you down the correct path.

And nothing's wrong with Vista. Its just not perfect, 7 just made that much closer to being perfect. We're not saying you're idiot for choosing Vista we're just letting you know that's there truly is something that will make your life easier and its called Windows 7. Of course, there are reasons why don't update to 7. We won't question why you do it cuz its none of our business. But in the event that you'd like to upgrade to 7 I guarantee that your network adapter driver is in there and it will work automatically.
