Homebrew Virtual Console Save State Manager?

Is there any sort of save state manager for VC games? I know I can hit the home button and exit and then resume my game from there, but let's say I do so and then lose all my lives. Is there a way to restore that last save state? I guess powering off the console might work so that it can't write a new one, but it would be great if there was a homebrew tool to backup & restore those save states.

Thanks for the suggestion, I couldn't get this to work on my Wii but did try SaveGame Manager GX which does work and did exactly what I wanted it to.
