Wow. Total Awesomeness!!
So this means we can play ALL Nintendo 64 games on full speed without any graphical glitch?!
K, now THAT would be worth getting a Wii for....
I read all these posts about getting any game to work through VC but something bugs me about how the Virtual Console works because I've been thinking of how the Wii can run all these games with very minor difference to the real thing. When that DKC2 VC rom content was extracted, did it only contain the rom and the help files or did it also contain any other files? What I thought about how VC worked was not by having data about the VC emulator stored in the Wii but the VC games themselves with specific coding for each game to optimize the performance and quality of the game itself. If not, then the Wii would have the basic data about the VC emulator and the games having specific settings for optimisation but I can't really believe that as that would have required a Wii update each time a new system is introduced to the library which has never happened. If what I said was the case however, then I can't see the possibility of getting any game to work unless we understood how the VC emulator itself worked and how to tweak it for optimal performance in each game (I'm mostly thinking about N64 ones). Perhaps one of the reasons why we never saw rumble in N64 games could be due to the limitations in the Wii hardware as it may have struggled on the games which would be CPU heavy.
