I purchased a partially working virgin wii. The disc drive will not read discs. Without thinking I upgraded to 4.3 not thinking that I would need lego to install the homebrew. Is there anyway that I can downgrade th firmware without having homebrew installed and a nonworking disc drive? Thank you for your help.

infectus mod chip could probably do it but, probably just as cheap to buy a new drive, or jus borrow a pals wii and nick his drive for 10 minutes lol

jokes aside this is actually doable and free to do

Good option ! But your still going to need original indiana pownz though...

No idea, but a lot less than if you try to fix something yourself, in which case they simply won't fix it at all when you screw up. If you happen to still be in warranty, it'll be free. Otherwise maybe $30-$40? I dunno, just a guess.

with a modchip installed you can use a backup of indiana jones

May I ask where you read that you need to downgrade your firmware? Firmware downgrading is a NO!

Oh I didn't read that I needed to downgrade my firmware anywhere. Just wondered if it could be done since I have a bad drive and was trying to work around it to do a softmod with Modmii but I need a drive with 4.3U
