Gaming VII or Crisis Core first?

Naturally you would want to play Crisis Core first

I have to disagree and say start with FFVII

You'll appreciate the plot-twists more since they will be unexpected. Assuming you don't know most of the storyline yet. After that, Crisis Core gives you deeper insight and helps you understand the events that happened in VII.

I second Crisis Core. I am playing it now.

It is a good game and too many reviewers gave it a lot of shit.

I like the gameplay, but would have loved it more if they would have ripped directly from Kingdom Hearts.

well since you're still starting, i suggest playing Crisis core first.

Although SE did a good job releasing the sequel first then the prequel, it left me with a "Ooohh, that's why!"

Either way, playing any of these two first will give pretty much the same.

Either way can't hurt. But if you're into FF7 remake rumours, go with CC for now? If not, I'd go with the original FF7.

play final fantasy 7 first so you understand what is going on in crisis core or it just won't make sense.

Parts of Crisis Core assume that you've played/experienced the original FF7 first, to get those a-ha moments like you said. Playing CC then going back to FF7 is a bit like a wet blanket. You'll get more out of the entire experience playing FF7 then going to CC. Enjoy!

Just a little anime movie made by Madhouse features the adventures of Zack and Cloud and that flashback. It's cool to watch, it's not canon though.

My FFXII Movie is crap it's Japanese, and displays only the Ashe's wedding and Bahamut's Destruction, juts like that, no wonder none of my friends said they understood wtf is the movie about

BTT: either one. CC and VII can be seen as a stand alone plot. You don't need to play either to "get" whats going on. Zack has his own story to tell and Cloud has his.

Do people recommend watching Star Wars 1~3 first or 4~6 first? (Assume the person receiving recommendation has never watched any Star Wars)

People who watched Star Wars when they came out naturally went with 4~6 first then 1~3. Just like how people who played back in PSX days played FF7 first then CC.

SW and FF7/CC are not composed the same way, but just throwing it out there.
