Gaming Video card choosing help.

My local computer store is selling a brad new Nvidia GTX280 on sale for $249 and a Radeon HD 4890 for basically the same price, $259, but it is not on sale. Now I've heard that ATI is doing a lot better than Nvid this generation, my store is only offering these two for high end (please don't mention online shopping) and I need a video card as soon as possible, which is a more logical choice? These are Canadian Dollars BTW...

I've got a 750Watt Corsair do you need those 1000W or something for this?

750 watt is fine. I've got a GTX275 and it runs perfectly on a 600watt psu.

Just make sure it has two pci-e power connectors.

Dude. Go for the Nvidia card.
Based on what I know Nvidia has the upper hand right now.
Nvidia cards have CUDA and Physx
