You have to admit...it's been pretty hectic once Verizon finally put the rumors to rest that they would be carrying the iPhone in February.

But a week before that, Motorola announced it's new Droid 4G Phone (which I knew about from my contact months before CES

) The Droid Bionic. It's suppose to be 4G compatible (NOT interested in 4G) have more features and more powerful than it's predecessor the Droid X

My birthday was in January..but my parents said that they are getting me a new phone...since the glitchy piece of S#&t EnV Touch has a screen spasms when ever sounds are played though it.

My 2 choices are the two phones mentioned above

my Pro and Con List is

iPhone -

1.Have a crapload of apps in iTunes already.

2. MUCH BIGGER App Selection in App Store

3. Tunein Radio App for the iPhone can RECORD (yes. this is a big plus for me)

4. Has the Apps I want in the App Store (like #2)

5. Easier to Jailbreak than Root (I think)

Droid X / Bionic

1. LOTS of free Apps in the App Store

2. HDMI Output (use the $1.99 app for FULL HDMI output for online streaming)

3. MicroSD Support means I can decide how much space I WANT and EXPAND upon it.

4. Free Android Market (no DMCA bullshit copyright restrictions)

5. EMULATORS!...there are tons of em on the Market.

6. Bigger Screen...more powerful than iPhone

If you can think of more pro's or Cons of either device..let me know

Honestly, the iPhone 5 is coming out in the summer, and the verizon iPhone will be obsolete, go with the Bionic, it has a dual core processor and qHD screen, it should be at the very top for at least a year

widgets is a big one, and rooting is not hard

you can get custom ROMs and remove bloatware off of your phone if you're rooted (slightly harder), optimize your battery and performance, and get all sorts of cool features

there's ad-free android which is freaking awesome!!! (root only)

really, the only things that are better about iOS (and iPhone) are UI consistency, apps (mainly games), and battery life (although you can manage it in android, but default it's not as good)

if you ever want some good apps you could hit me up for some recommendations

I have the droid X and love it. It was not difficult to root, but each time Verizon releases an upgrade and you update it you have to root it again. Of course you could always just run custom firmware and not update, but overall I like it and think it's a great item. I feel Android is superior to iphone. It's open source and anyone can create an app for it. If I didn't already have the X, I'd go for the Bionic. It looks pretty sweet. Also the HD video recording and high res camera (8 mega pixel on the Droid X) is a definite plus. Honestly the only reason I root this phone though is to uninstall the extra apps that come with it.

its pretty easy if you want an iphone buy an iphone
if you want an android buy an android

its completely different
iphone is like you pay for it it works like expected

android is more like playing around seeing what you can do

u shouldn't uninstall the bloatware, u should just freeze it using something like titanium backup pro, same effect but it's reversible

When I said uninstall that's kinda what I meant. Simply renaming the files to .bak instead of .apk has the same effect.
