Can you post your notes on the locations? Otherwise I can't experiment! ^^'

Damn you FGOD for distracting HowardC from my post!

It's already mentioned in this thread (don't ask me where).
I don't have the specifics off the top of my head, but positional data is stored in the entires at the beginning of the brlyt, (with the color) the tab itself is the "PF" entry while the text is "PFLine" despite the fact that one is a texture and the other is text the positional info works the same way.

I found the value.. or values. Is it a 1, 2 or 3 hex byte position?

EDIT: Seems to be the first byte for the length of the tabe. So 255 Pixels is the longest the tab can be. It seems 'SUPER NINTENDO ENTERTAINMENT SYSTEM IS THE BEST' won't fit as it makes the 'BEST' move to a second line.

EDIT 2: The 'Region Force' on the 'VC vcbrly Editor' works by the way. Just tried it on the MSX Aleste WAD.

EDIT 3:

Well this is where the data seems to be:

The value after 'C3' is the tabs length. The rest I've no idea what they do.

Decided to have a go inserting Super Smash Bros. into Sin and Punishment. In the rom injector, would it be possible as an option to remove the .T64 files in the 05.app? These are basically files that make certain changes to the N64 rom that is loaded (Sin and Punishment uses a lot of them) and inject roms aren't really going to use them. Some cases they will need to be kept if say you're injecting an modifed version of the rom (like F-Zero) which will still need them.

Now the Save Icon isn't reading/injecting the titles correctly:

1-7.jpg

It's not reading the title correctly. It should just say 'Sin and Punishment'.

2-8.jpg

Here is what happens when I change the title of the game. Doesn't display correctly on the Wii.

3-5.jpg

The DE, ES, NL and IT have the entries as 'Yoshi Story' (The hell? XD).

And some Icon.bin files are make the images distorted and some aren't. I'll try and upload some files so we can see what's going on. I'm alo going to ask at romhacking about the '11' L7ZZ (or whatever it's called) and see what they say about this compression that Nintendo have used in later VC Channels in the 05.app.

That's it for now.

EDIT: Unlike the other VC Saves, once the N64 Loads the save_banner.tpl and name, it won't change if a different save_banner.tpl or name is used. Only the data save contents will change. So you're going to have to delete the N64 VC Save each time, if you plan having the correct save name/images on the banner.

Explains why nothing changed when I was trying to change the save name on the last N64 Wad. >_

Anyone have an old version of the U8 tool anymore that will not corrupt the icon.bin file? I can use that temporarily on just the icon.bin until HowardC updates the tool.

I finished my cue 2 hcd function. It reads a cue file to get the file names and and pre-gaps and then reads the actual files to get the data sizes. This means a pre-split fileset can be fed into the injector and I can make a hcd, convert the wavs to ogg, and compress the iso chunks. Of course standard bin/cue sets will work as well

Hope we will have some news from HowardC soon, as ive been playing with TG16 stuff now myself, but have only got to the 'load buzzing noise freeze' so im waiting for a nice little bin compressor tool

Looks like Howard is having a nice Christmas break. Hopefully we will hear some news from him before the end of 2009.

In the mean time, I've been experimenting with injecting Sega Genesis/Mega Drive roms. Here's a Youtube video showing:
- Knuckles The Echidna in Sonic The Hedgehog
- Michael Jackson's Moonwalker
- Earthworm Jim 2
- Phantasy Star II: Shilka's Adventure

I have written a guide which shows how you can do this yourself, thanks to HowardC's tools for those interested to see how it is done. I won't be releasing it until after Christmas as I need to tidy the guide up.
