Sorry, I don't know MAC, but if there's the equivalent of Linux's dd command, you can do it.
dump sector 0, replace 55AA to 55AB (or the other way around) to hide/unhide, restore the sector 0 with that dumped sector binary.

The steps are explained here:

Thank you, I shall look into this.

I added them to the first post, in case you edit your signature, or for users without an account or with signature disabled in the settings.
the recompiled emulators have only ustealth support? no WUP added too? some users asked for both at the same time in the vWii guide thread.

They already had wup compatibility at the time I recompiled them.

Maybe you don't have enough power?
is your drive correctly detected with other homebrew? wiixplorer (using IOS58), usbloadergx (using IOS249 or 58)?
I guess USB Toggle is using IOS58 which should be best for compatibility.

there's no official thread for that program, it was released in this one.

Switch the power/data cable on the back of the Wii U
I bought a Y cable because a standard cable didn't cut it on the wiiu (as it did on the Wii) so I'm drawing power from 2 ports. All other homebrew I've tried work, USB loaders, wiixplorer, yawmm, emulators, etc. I've tried switching ports but if I do nothing works, the primary data cable needs to be in the port furthest from the edge on the rear.

I can live with having to connect the HDD to my PC to hide/unhide, but would obviously be preferred if I didn't have to

I understand that mGBA emulation is more accurate, I don't know if vbagx is actively being developed as fceu or snes9gx.

Love the FCEUGX and SNES9GX UStealth versions - thanks! As the previous commenter asked, is there any GB emulator right now that works with UStealth? I'm fine with switching off vbagx if necessary but at this point I'm not aware of any alternatives. I wouldn't mind mucking around with it myself if someone could provide a heads up on what needs to be modified.

Tried looking into mGBA but it seems it doesn't have HDD support only SD, still the compile instructions are kinda complex because they throw some Linux files in the bunch so meh.

Anyway, it's VBAGX with UStealth support, not the best GBA emulator but at least it will make save some space for your SD.

As for Retroarch, I asked for help to @zerofalcon, you need to recompile every core (so far I have most of the cores, still missing G&W, VB, Atari) so it's a more lengthy process than stand alone emus.

Last edited by OriginalHamster,
This is absolutely brilliant.

UStealth R8 works perfectly with USB Loader GX, although the app moaned there had been an error in fact the drive I'm using (USB 3.0 case from a 5TB 3.5" Seagate Expansion Deck with a 2TB Hitachi drive fitted instead) mounted perfectly and runs just the same as before. Same with CFG USB Loader, and Nintendont if it's run on it's own rather than via a Loader. WiiXplorer doesn't but you can't have it all.

I wish I'd known about it when I got my Wii U and started getting home-brew on it, could have saved thousands of button presses clearing that error message away from the HOME menu!

so i used it on my sons wbfs drive for his wii u worked great. Bad news, i had fat 32 2 terabyte drive. I had one folder with wii games and the other with the gamecube. drive worked great i had no problems. I ran this utility and some how it corrupted the partition. i cant get the wii u or my windows computer to see it after i un hide it. it shows up as un allocated partition. I'm running easeUS Partition Recovery to try and recover it. Any ideas why this might had happened?
