Hacking Using 360 controller on PSP?

My brother's recently found out that he could get back into playing his PSP if he installs a certain whatever that would let his 360 take over controlling his system. He's disabled and his disease has progressed to the point where he can't hold up his PSP anymore. He found an old blog post talking about iR Shell and something about networking, and we got the shell to install but we can't figure out the networking bits, and the blog had no instructions on this point.

Anyone have any suggestions for getting this working? His PSP has just laid away for a year or two now. He'd really like to get back into playing it, but neither of us know much about networking stuff, and he has trouble looking around for answers on account of his inability to move.

Do you have a laptop?

You can connect the PSP via USB to the laptop and use Remotejoylite, which I'm sure has options to use a Gamepad (or if not the keyboard which then you can use something like JoyToKey)
