ROM Hack Use the D-Pad as the Circle pad?

I am dying because most games use circle pad as the movement and do not offer users the option to swap the layout. So I am asking if there is anyway to map the circle pad to the d-pad and vice versa. I really hope it is possible. Thanks for listening to my ramble.

The dpad on the 3ds is garbage anyway, not sure why you would want to even use it

The circle pad is an analog input device, which allows you to only slide it a little and walk. The dpad on the other hand is not capable of that. It is either pressed or not. No in between, makes many games that require precise motion harder (sm64ds). While I won't say it is impossible, there is no way to do it currently.

It's just what I prefer to play with... I really do wish there was a way or even an option to switch...
