bluebird, I'm really starting to dig your loader. It's pretty close to the concept I posted earlier...shoulda read your post first I suppose lol. The only difference was I was going to incorporate a whole host of database-driven game details, including ESRB Rating and Parental Controls, Screenshots, Game Site Review, Required Peripherals, etc. Here's a mockup of the GUI layout I designed. I'd be happy to collaborate with you on creating a game database and a new GUI for yours.

No no no, sorry but this ISNT my loader. Come on, its usptactical's. IM barley doing anything, I'm just combining everyones work. Don't give me credit.

Personally, the box image is enough for me. Add too much more and it starts to get cluttered to my eye. To each his own though.

** NEW Download **

I have now completed 338 NTSC Covers ... all sized identically and all named with [gameID].png .... I will keep sluggin away at these ... but by the end of the week for sure, I will have them ALL done. So, no requests just yet, but this should take care of MOST of them.

All additional ones after these 338 covers, will be done in smaller downloads, and will only include NEW additions ... This particular package contains all the 190+ I did before + 150 more or so. So consider this a complete package ... thus far.

Again, Someone please mirror as this will only allow 10 downloads.

24MB Download ....

Official - 338 NTSC Covers - Resized & ID'd

Thanks everyone ... I'm excited at what this particular loader will turn into !

Can someone please mirror that download.the 10 limit it gone.

which studio do you work for?

To have a loader that can load all this meta-data from a db would be FANTASTIC!

lol Red8, but whose counting

I might have to streamline the concept a bit more since there's been a mixed bag of reviews, but I agree, a db-driven interface, at least as an option would be nice.

Personally I'd love to see the whole project evolve into something that almost rivals the quality and professionalism both PS3 and 360 users enjoy with their systems, when it comes to their game selectors.

Yea to cluttered.... Cover box only and the behind the scene stuff

I think its a really good idea. I'd want it. However, maybe have the box art only in the main screen, then if you press a button or something the extra info will appear. Then you only download the extra info if wanted and no clutter.

Can this be made into a wad? So you can have a channel for the loader but still load the images from the sd card?

Is that possible?

Wow that is pretty assholeish....please upload the images if you were one of the 10 that got them!

Ah, now that sounds like a pretty good idea to do it that way to me. That way it doesn't crowd the 'main screen', yet if you want you can access the info.

What about Box Art and Players? It's nice to know how many can play a game before launching it.... then maybe down the line a sort feature could be added to sort by multi-player games and what-not

Actually that was the intent I forgot to mention...the UI would initially be cover and title, and a press of the button would fade-wipe to the Info page. I only designed the info page concept so far to get an idea of what it could look like.
