Kind of. You know on the iPhone, if your in iTunes and playing an album say. It will show you the album cover but if you tap the cover it will flip to show you the track listing on the back. My idea is that the loader loads up as it is now and the buttons all work as normal just that there is no buttons on the main image with instructions, so instead you press button 2 and it will load up another background with all the instructions for each button. Nice and clean. If it can be programmed to flip between the loader background and the instructions background using button 2, it would be perfect for me.

So in answer to your question, yes on the instructions page it would tell you what each button does and maybe even give a brief description of that function. So for example the list would be like so:

Press button 2 to return to the Main page at any time

Press A to load Ocarina codes:
Description: Ocarina, allows you to use game codes to blah blah blah.........................

Press B to force NTSC video mode:
Description: Force NTSC allows PAL games to be forced into using blah blah blah...................

As i have already looked the source ( of "USBL_UltimateEdition" of Wiishizzza as already full options done ):

- the function "Background_Show()" in usb-loader.c is always called from main(). So absolutely possible to toggle between two different Background...until we launch the game of course!

On which version of USBLoader do you work cdreams, UltimateEdition?

The noimage.png should be working properly. There is two versions I made, small and large and they are in the proper folders to work. Make sure you don't have older images there for noimage that might be causing issues.

Does anyone have the ability to add this loader and images to the Loader Wiki page. I think this is one that a few people would want.

I'm surprised it's not already been added to be honest, I prefer this over most others. Of course it could maybe use some cleaning up and tweaking but it works and loads and looks nice so why not?

cdreams If you want I could add the instruction to show when 2 is press.
I have already test it on a "normal". So I would just have to modified the source to add it.

@atupac

Sorry I was being a moron, I just realised I had the noimage.png at 169x225 instead of 160x225.

I have fixed the uploaded files in my link so download the newest one and it will work now.

Sorry to everyone else who got the wrong size due to me lol, fixed now though.

That would be awesome my good man. I will make a image with the background for the instructions page then, give me a little while to get it done. Cheers.

@ shanefromoz

Not sure, I know djtaz's site has them all seperate and you can select a bunch and make a zip of them all to download. I guess that is one place to get them all from. People on here like Kosiac and stuff have released the odd zip here and there with modified images for loaders and stuff but they are all over the place in forums.

By the way for any people interested and who could implement this, 56killer is going to have a try I think, then here is the instructions page along with the main background page:

bg.png

bgrear.png

So the plan is, that you load the loader and the main bg.png loads up with all your game box images in the correct places. If you press 2 on the Wiimote then the page flips to show bgrear.png. This is just there are still instructions and information on what does what, but leaves the main bg.png uncluttered for us fussy ones.

Then when you want to go back to the main bg.png, you just press button 2 on the Wiimote again.

I have tested and it seems to be working as plan, no issues so far and I'm loving it

I have updated my older links to download the zip file with all the stuff you need except the actual game images, to make this work. Here is the link again just in case you missed it from before: Download Link USB Coverflow Loader

Let me know what you think and if someone could add it to the Wiki please. i feel quite chuffed with myself lol.

Can someone point me in the right direction please :-p I've got my Wii Softmodded and I don't own a copy of twilight princess, i went to a friends house when i modded mine, can i setup the usb loader and such if it's already modded or am i going to need the twilight princess disc again ? Thanks!

If your Wii is softmodded then it will be down to what revision certain cIOS's are at and whatnot. For myself I have installed Waninkoko's cIOSRev9 and IOS36-64-v1042.wad using Wadmanager 1.3. If you have The Homebrew Channel installed then you can add these but it will also depend what version your system menu is at. Mine is 3.2 for instance. Check this in your system settings up in the top right corner.

Once you have them installed there are loads of other things to consider like Starfall or similar installs to help protect from bricking and stuff.

I believe my system menu is 3.2U as it shows in the corner of the settings and I loaded up the Home Brew Channel and under settings it says CIOS ios36v4.18

Will I be able to use usb loader w/o the twilight princess disc and if not can you point me to a nice tutorial on what to do to get started :-p i'd appreciate the help again! thanks man.

My link now includes a wad file to load it from your system menu instead of homebrew channel all the time.

Much thanks to 56killer for making the instructions page work and thanks to everyone else who helped out with other stuff and original ideas. All I have done is try tidy things up graphically and add some bits and bobs. I hope you all enjoy

Also if someone has Rev10 installed can you let us know if the loader works or not cause I'm sticking with Rev9 for now, cheers.

You will need to get the latest Rev. A new one was just released but some people are having issues with it, so I would suggest sticking to Rev9 for now. You can find it on the forums or Waninkoko's site probably, have a search around. Then make sure you have that IOS36 I mentioned, again you will need to search around for it.

Once you have installed both of those, then you can just download my loader which is liked above, or any others and you should be good to go.

I would type up a better guide but it's 4am here and I'm pretty shattered.

so do we still need the small images for yours?
I hate the fact that I need to resize and rename images, so lame....

There are SO many ways to do this in batch. On my mac it literally took less than five minutes to prep the whole pack of 400 NTSC images, in fact I also darkened and desaturated the images a bit for a cool effect. Don't call it lame, either that or fix it yourself, these guys are working hard.

I think you misunderstood me, this project is great, it's what I'll be using when it's done. It's just the whole installing a third party program to make a USB Loader to work properly. Those issues will be gone after the online feature though. Oh by the way Appleman will you be using the new USB/SD Loader? cant wait for this..... Hope to see it soon

I think i'm getting somewhere :-p Copying a ripped image to my drive now and going to attempt to boot it. one more quick question, is the burning of the images to dvd discs supported well now? i thought i read somewhere that its really disc-dependant is this true ?

there are two ways of doing it...

1.) Rip from a DVD straight to USB through the Wii
2.) Use this program to dump ISO's off of your PC to your hard drive.

I have tested this on my NTSC-u Wii. Here's what I'm getting-
The title of my first game (AC/DC LIVE: Rock band Track Pack) does not show up.
The title of the next game (Alone in the Dark) shows up fine.
The title of the 3rd game (Are you smarter than a 5th grader?) shows up as "r?". There is not even the ">>" before the title.
Then next few games show up fine.
"Guitar hero III (Rock Band Songs)" shows up as ")", again with no ">>".
"Millennium Series champion Paintball 2009" shows up as "aintba"
"Shaun White Snowboarding: Road trip" shows up as "rip"

So, it seems that (for me) if a title is 32 characters long, it shows up blank. If the title is over 32 characters, the ">>" is dropped and it starts with the 33rd character. I'm not sure what is up with the paintball game, because all the other games fit this pattern. The paintball game shows up fine in other loaders, it is just cut off after 37 characters and dose not continue to the next line.

I don't have any small covers, so I cannot say if they are working. The center and small "no image" show up fine.
