New background for:

PAL 60Hz - Widescreen, compatible with new download covers

coords are:

console_coords = 52,94,350,262
covers_coords = 460,152

I also have a matching forwarder if anyone wants it?

Does the forwarder work correctly?
I packed a forwarder the other day and got nothing but DSI errors when booting from it.

Works for me.

Let's see your forwarder, then.

OK looks for "apps/usbloader/boot.dol"

Hmm, I like everything about it except for the second image that displays when you're on the main System Menu page. It's smaller than the channel box so the Wii fills it in with this fugly wavy background. If that were changed the channel would be made of awesome incarnate. @_@

I love this loader! Especially the cover downloading. That is very nice.

But the coordinates bug needs to be fixed. I could not get the thing to work and it gave me a black screen every time. Then I saw a post that said the coordinates need to be divisible by 4. I set the console coordinates that way and now it works.

am i right in thinking the config.txt can be in the sd root OR with the dol?

i ask because i now set it to load the usb loader automatically through preloader and i put the config and titles in the root and set that as child mode, i also have the loader in the apps/usbloader with a config set as normal for adding and removing games

now when i load either up its in child mode!

is there a way to set 2 configs, 1 for each loader?

hungyip84 can you help me with the above problem please

My bad, I made a mistake so it load both config. I will get it fixed now and upload a 7.41?

Edit: Fixed the issue. Now you can go to the first post and try to download the newest one (uploaded 4/19/2009)
I only see V7.4 in the first post. Where's V7.41?

Thanks for your great work. It's awesome ! But I have a question : can you introduce the management of multigame Wii-Disk in usbloader please ?

Thank you again !

Now that would be good as I have a few multiboot dvds, but don't have the original iso's anymore and USB Loader cannot see multiboot discs. Tried using imgburn to copyback and un wiiscribber, but no luck.

Is it a possibility to get the loader to view different Partion's on the DVD disk?...

EDIT - PLEASE READ
There's a new release described here: http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=147...p;#entry1923249

Alrighty, got my release well enough put together that you guys can test it out. This adds the ability to modify the URL used to download both widescreen and standard artwork from. If you would like to host pictures yourself, please remember that the webserver specified in the config.txt also needs to have the correct folder structure. For example:

Code:
imagedlurl = http://www.theotherzone.com/wii
ÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂ(The location of the file needs to be at http://www.theotherzone.com/wii/*REGION*/*HEADER+ID*.png, where *REGION* could be NTSC, NTSCJ, or PAL.ÂÂ*HEADER* is the 6 character disc id)

There is also a "wimagedlurl" setting that is for widescreen covers.

Also implemented is the ability to auto update, the auto update is configurable for the full URL to the boot.dol file from. This is started from the main menu by pressing the "2" button.

Those are the major additions, I also made a few other changes like showing the full URL used in updating so you can verify that your settings are being loaded as well as showing the URL when downloading artwork automatically for verification. (Just remembered, v1 will most likely have a short delay when downloading artwork so you can see the URL... It happens fast and I wanted to verify it was doing it's thing, I'll change that in v2)

Also included in this ZIP are a homebrew channel icon and meta.xml, along with the changes you need to add to the config.txt.

Please test this out and let me know how it works for you all!!!

OK here is how you can make your own 3d covers for what ever back ground you want

you will need the following

bg.png

and this pic i call temp.png

temp-1.png

and the program called Image Merger

product_im_thumbnail.gif

I use an old version of Paint Shop Pro but any art program can be used.

Step 1
Open up the bg.png you want to use

bg-4.png

Step 2
(outline your starting point of your cover area as so i choose 50,92 for mine)
(and of course your ending point is 160,225)

step1-1.jpg

you end up with this

temp.png

Step 3

Now open up Image Resizer

step3-1.jpg

Step 4

step4-1.jpg

Step 5

step5-1.jpg

Step 6

step6-1.jpg

Step 7

step7.jpg

Step 8

step8-1.jpg

you end up with this

R2AE7D.png

then you get this

end.jpg

Any question's just PM me.

@starstremr

Thanks for that quick tutorial. I was curious which program could do that. I like the idea of having a super-custom loader, but it's kind of a pain when you have to create new cover images for each new background you make
