Maxtor Basics Portable 250gb works beautifully out of the box. Around £50 in the UK and everything has installed and booted fine (up to now!)

p.s. it comes with a usb cable with two power ends (one labelled "power and data", the other "power") and tells you to plug them both into your 'laptop' (ahem) but i dumped it and used a standard usb cable without any issues at all.

My WD 1 TB My book worked.

It kinda sucks that I couldn't figure out how to get the 500GB disk to work, because I really wanted to keep the 1 TB disk in my media center. I guess I'll just have to hope that the disk compatability has gotten better before I fill up the 500 GB disk and switch back when that happens.

What I am using works, but I have an individual case so don't take it into account.

iPod, 5th Generation 30GB, works. My iPod however has this issue with the hard drive where it locks up at random with certain songs so when installing Brawl or Tatsunoko it locks up and the Wii can't find it anymore. I have to do the hard reset with hold and the menu + center buttons.

I am quite sure this won't happen for other people, but I don't know how isolated this hard drive issue really is.

Oh, and Mario Party 8 runs about 5x or 6x, not that great.

Works great. The enclosure comes with a cable for 2 USB ports (for power), but I can successfully run it on a single cable.

I can not install any game into wbfs partition larger than 524,289MB.
