Hey everybody!

I'm new in this scene(got wii today and hacked it), so i have a few questions.. The first one is, which loader do you prefer, and what are differences? Really just the look? Which loader is the most popular and most reliable? I installed USB Loader GX and till now, games work.

Another question is, do i need to convert game .isos with wii backup manager to wbfs everytime? So, extract rar, import iso and transfer it to external disk?

Is there any recommended file system? Right now i have FAT32...

THANK YOU ALL FOR REPLY :)!

It's a matter of preference. Configurable USB Loader and WiiFlow appear to be the most popular. I recommend Configurable USB Loader. There have been a few instances in which switching to Configurable USB Loader has solved peoples' problems with games.

WBFS is the recommended file format, so yes. You can transfer the full ISO (Configurable USB Loader will still read it), but that's a waste of space.

FAT32 is recommended. Configurable USB Loader can read off other file systems, but FAT32 is recommended for various reasons.

Note: the above post is by far accurate I'm only adding to the addition which I felt was left out.

As far as USB Loaders go you have your pic and choose
1.Configurable USB Loader; tends to hold the higest compatibility among Wii games and is highly recommended by the community: compatibility is what you aim for here.
2.Wiiflow; nice overall a hell of a lot of themes are made for it compatibility is said to be that of or equal to CFG Loader; It has the auto IOS feature which is nice if you install the wad packs cause it will auto determine which IOS a game needs and load it using that IOS. This loader also supports WW/VC/Channel loading which is a plus if your looking to have an emulated nand with all your additional games installed to.
3.USB Loader GX; a good all round loader honestly right? It supports the ability to save your gaves to a emulated nand which is definitely a plus in my book and also loads homebrew and if your into beta's they added channel loading as well.

FAT32 is recommended but with a cluster size of 32kb, 16kb if your drive does not support 32kb. You can use EASEUS Partition Manager if you need help.

Definitely go with WBFS games and WBM should support games w/RAR extension; it just takes a little longer for the app to extract then convert ISO< WBFS.

I would also like to recommend neek2o since it supports the WBFS format all those USB loaders do and also the FST format which is and extracted ISO; sometimes FST games are smaller then their WBFS counterpart. Your not limited by the SM 48 channels; you have many options to load games like postloader, Joyflow(Wiiflow version for neek), disc channel and the coolest part about it is you no longer need to store any files for neek on your sd card just copy and paste the sneek folder to usb and load the app through HBC, SM Channel, Postloader; it doesn't matter, hell even auto-boot from Priiloader should work LoL

If your new to all this I would at least recommend you grabbing ModmIi as this will help you a lot! but also try out neek2o. I don't think you will be disappointed.

Oh, what a great forum, i got awesome replies right away. Thank you both!

So I'll try all of those loaders to see which one i like the most :).. My friends all told me that USB Loader CX is by far the best, but I think that you have more experience.
Sorry, I don't understand what is the point of emulated nand(newbie, but as said, got wii only today), and what neek2o is?

The point of having an emulated nand is so nothing is ever written to the actual Wii itself. The Wii will basically emulate itself including a System Menu channels (everything you see on your Wii right now) you are just not restricted by limitations on the Wii's real nand examples include 512MB limit; this includes installed games, and game saves, etc. neither are you hindered by the 48 channel limit that the original Wii has. There are other points like the brick protection which means cause it's an emulated nand you wont ever brick your actual Wii and it's easy to copy to game saves from pc for backup :) I'm sure with all these people reading that someone could give you a few other reasons to try neek2o ;)

Check out this forum:

ModMii can help you create the necessary files to run neek2o but if you check out their google.code page you will find a .dol that allows you to boot into neek2o w/o needing the sneek folder on your sd card :) this mean you simply need to copy files over to your usb only making an even easier setup. Hope this info helps

I like using CFG more, but right now it's not the loader I'm using.
Right now I'm using USB Loader GX because of the emulated nand stuff, but if CFG add that feature I'll definitely go back to CFG.

Which games work in CFG that don't in GX? I've played about 60 games on GX, and only Sports Resort hasn't worked (though there is a workaround).

I think you got this the other way around at least for the time being. The only game that needs GX is Driver San Francisco up untill this game CFG held the spotlight or still does cause lets face it the main thing about GX is the all in the options....
Still I would recommend neek2o :) no cIOS you have to worry about and it's even easier to setup now that you don't have to have anything on sd anymore (just usb).
