Whats up, @Cyan. The SFX volume options is not saving. When you restart ULGX the number on the settings remains the same you have changed, but the volume level returns to default. It would be awesome if this was fixed. Im using the latest version, 1272. Thanks for your efforts on this amazing loader.

hello,

I never used the sound menu, but if it's a setting problem I can look at it.
though, you say the setting number is saved, but the volume not applied accordingly? it might be something I never worked with so I don't know if I'll find the issue.

Yes, its not apllied correctlty. Only the number is saved, but whenever ULGX is reloaded, whether it's coming back from a game or the HBC, the volume will always be lower than the number you left, you have to change the number again to increase or decrease the volume. To test this leave the SFX volume at maximum in the settings, then exit the loader and enter again, in the settings the number of the volume will be at maximum, but the sound actually isnt.

to find a fix, it would require analysis of the problem, and I'm not capable of that.
if someone has a patch, I can add it, else I can't do anything and only neek can play that game.
Okay, that's understandable. Unluckily I have no idea either of what the problem is or how to find a fix. I though it was something similar to Driver San Francisco. But Driver San Francisco works fine now.

Does anyone know of a guide/tutorial of USB Loader GX Theme Creator? I tried my hand at making my own theme, it actually looks pretty good in the Theme Creator program, but when I load it into USBLGX, the background doesnt appear. Everything else does though, the custom pointer, the fonts, the settings background, the left and right arrow pointer all show up, just not the background picture.

Im wondering if it needs to be named something particular? Im not sure why it doesnt show up.

It is named background.png and is 640X480

EDIT: Found the reason. My Wii and USBLGX settings are 16x9, had to switch views in Theme Creator and edit accordingly.

EDIT: Found the reason. My Wii and USBLGX settings are 16x9, had to switch views in Theme Creator and edit accordingly.

This part of the User Manual worries me though:

"The editing panel allows you to set the theme, it contains several tabs. In the first you will find created from a text file content. "them".
If you decide to edit text directly in the first tab you take risks. If you make a mistake your theme may become unusable. The other tabs allow you to edit the settings without making mistakes."

I ended up scrapping all the icons and "settings background" pictures I was making in favor of the Gold .png files from the Blue&Gold theme by bl000dclaat. How do I go about giving him credit if I cant edit the Authors/Teams after creating the .them file?

I never used a theme creator and only edit the .them file manually in notepad++
there's not a big reason you'll mess things up. if you see it expects numbers, put numbers. don't delete lines, or add/remove quotes etc.

All I do is edit the file, and do lot of trial and errors to see the result on the console. launch, test, shutdown, retry, etc.
the only issue is that you need to copy the files to SD everytime, it's long and boring to eject SD, copy, reinsert, so I used Wiixplorer FTP instead.
I even wanted to add support for theme upload over wifi into the loader, like homebrew launcher, but never did.

be sure to keep the files UTF-8 without BOM. (that's an option of your file editor)

USBLoaderGX r1272
Release here

Changelog :
* Added 480p fix option for wii games. Thanks to Extrems for the fix and Leseratte for the patch !
* Merged the libraries into the source instead of expecting them in libogc
* Changed default loader's IOS to 58 (test), and default game's IOS to 249.
* Changed displayed revision on startup screen to always show "mod" by default (unless being an official release) as nobody used that option for mods.
* SVN un-ignored svnrev.c file to allow users to compile without sh script
* Fixed a compile error: removed reference to unused LibWUPC library

* Updated Language files:
- French (Cyan)
- Korean (DDinghoya) . THERE WERE 5 ERRORS ! Please, translators, verify your files before submitting them. be sure all strings are inside double quotes! I fixed it for you.

Release note :
I added a 480p fixed boot.dol, and set it as default.
if the loader doesn't work, try renaming the other dol to "boot.dol" and see if it helps.

Thanks to @blackb0x for the hexedit patch :)
Thanks for the update been using this loader a long time. Back on wii with component cable, i just set video mode to system default

Now that im playing on wii u with hdmi, is there any recomended video mode setting? Is 480p fix also works on vwii?

Thank you

The 480p bug only affects early Wii hardware. it has been fixed on later console, and is not present on WiiU/vWii. you won't see any change or benefit. keep that option disabled.

Here's an example image btw.

AVr8RMR.png

What I think is that one game was programmed with VI patch and other wasnt.
It is not a blur filter per se, but a patch to avoid flickering which tends to add a little bit of blur on the image and it is not caused by being in 480p.
On the Wii is mostly applied, but it is not a norm. Skyward Sword dont have VI patch, but Twilight Princess does (and the bloom filter does not help, making the game look even more blurrier)
I remember that you can notice the difference of VI patch on the Wii System Menu inside the Wii U, if you click on the SD Card Menu and go back, you notice that the System Menu is a little bit more "pixelised" if you are closer to the screen, it is a fault on the VI patch, it is not supposed to turn on and off like that.

Hello Everyone!

I'm hoping I can get some help. I have a WII that I am trying to backup a few games onto a FAT32 formatted SSD in USB port 0. I'm using USB Loader GX r1272.

USB Loader freezes at some point during the process almost every time I try to backup any game. Should I use NTFS instead? Is there any settings that I'm missing? Should I make sure that I'm using IOS 58? I'm kind of noobish here, so any help will be greatly appreciated.

Hello. :)

Do i understand you correct:
Your USBLoader GX freezes ONLY when you BACKUP Games with it ?

If YES than you can use the Tool CLEANRIP instead:

https://github.com/emukidid/cleanrip/releases

(From inside the downloaded .zip File copy the folder "CleanRip" to the Folder "apps" on your Wii´s SD Card and it should appear in the Homebrew Channel next time you boot up your Wii).

And maybe you can post a sysCheck to see all IOSes are correctly occupied.:)

Thank you.:)

Thank you so much for replying!

Yes, ULGX freezes only when I backup games with it. I've successfully been able to pull ISOs with CleanRip, and then use WiiBackupManager to convert to the wbfs format that ULGX can read, but when trying to play any of those games, they either go to a black screen, or they start, get to the wiimote safety warning, THEN go to a black screen.

So what's funny, is that reading your request for a sysCheck, I went and downloaded the system checker, and it let me know that IOS 36 wasn't good. So I got that updated, and tried to use USB Loader again... and it worked! I was able to rip Rayman, and then Fire Emblem. I was on cloud 9, went to go delete a game that wasn't working (Donkey Kong Country Returns), and try that again. It froze. Rebooted, and tried again. Same thing. I tried just playing the game from the disc, just to make sure that it wasn't the media being bad. Worked fine. Tried Mario Party 9. Nope. Mario Galaxy? No dice. Argh.

There we can see a little clearer of the important IOSes like 58,249 and 250 and how they are occupied.:)

If you have done the sysCheck starting from the Homebrew Channel it makes this syscheck.csv in the ROOT of your Wii´s SD Card.
You may upload this file here or open it with the Editor/Notepad in Windows and copy/paste the content in your next reply here.

Thank you.:)

In the meantime, I've been using an earlier version of Wiiflow to copy games over. It freezes too, but only after the completion of the rip. So I know when I get a hex dump screen, I can eject the disk, put a new one in, and restart the Wii. :yaywii:

Hello. :)

Thank you for your sysCheck.

It looks not so bad as it seems.:rofl2:
No, seriously, looks good and ModMii has not so much to find fault with it:

Ohuhuhuuhul-2.jpg

As already mentioned, your cIOSes for Game compatibility has to be updated and a little other things.

You can use the Update function from ModMii (SU for sysCheck Update) for this,it is a little easier. Please read the also generated Guide with the downloades files.

https://gbatemp.net/threads/modmii-for-windows-official-support-topic.207126/

You can also download it by hand and install it with an WAD manager like

MultiModManager
or YetAnotherWadManagerMod.
You can get BOTH under Downloads on Page 2 in ModMii.

And by the Way please check if your PRIILOADER is still installed and works (you can check this by pressing and HOLDING RESET when you Power on your Wii).

Good Luck.:)

recently mod my wii with the latest ModMii and latest USBloader GX. am able to load, play and save games with it. Tried playing Wheel of Fortune today and the game loads but stops at press A to continue. tried pressing A and all other buttons....but it just will not move from that screen. Any ideas ?

is that a Disc based game, or a channel (wiiware) ?
if it's a disc based game, verify it's good (wii backup manager > sha1 option)
try to change the IOS base you use (if you installed base56 in slot 249, and have base57 in slot 250, change the default IOS slot to 250 in the loader's settings)
usually, base57 is better, but not always. just try the other one you have.
some games might require completely different base (37, 53, etc.) but it's very rare. don't try that yet.

if it's a wad/channe/wiiware, you might want to try it on NAND instead of emuNAND to see if it's an emuNAND issue (again, could be cIOS related).
some wiiware don't work on emuNAND cIOS mode, and require neek mode instead.
