what is the noSSL patch?

ahhh, I think I know.
It's a way to use the online games without Nintendo's server?
Though, it's enough? you don't need to patch the ISO to replace the server's addresses too?

or is it a single patch for every games?

I didn't follow the project to replace wifi servers.
Could you point me to the patch?

EDIT: also, could you add an option for setting DNS without going through internet setting?

Cyan,

I'm trying to pin down what is the main cause of the problem, and I think it might be USB Loader GX itself. I've attached my video just to show.

(Youtube error not showing thumbnail of video)

One thing you will notice is the GX couldn't determine the right size of my .wbfs file (SSBB) as opposed to CFG. And I can confirm that all games the GX cannot detect the right size, does not load for me.

Any thoughts? Have you had the same issues before?

I have tried to defrag my NTFS partition and Fix errors. But still no change.
I don't have any other Wiis to play around so wouldn't be able to confirm if it is just my Wii, or its GX itself.
I have tried loading it straight from HBC, same.

All Wii info is in my sig.

Cyan,

I have solved my problem.

Funny how a simple thing can make it look that everything is messed up.

I noticed that the file that GX cannot read are the files that are set (accidentally) as read-only. GX cannot determine the right size and will look like that there is something wrong, in reality its just a simple file permission error.

I guess my next question is, how and why is this limitation in GX? (if you would call it a limitation)

CFG Loader Mod can read files, regardless of its set permission. And honestly, it really doesn't matter if you can write to the file, cause you wouldn't need to modify the file right..?

Now for some reason. My Wii has began showing another issue. It doesn't matter if I use CFG or GX, but I cannot return to their loader by pressing the power button on the remote, while in a game. It was working fine before. Now it just completely turn the whole wii off (full shutdown, red light). Now I need to try and remember what I've done wrong to mess that certain thing up. Any thoughts on this? I've properly set both to reset their own loaders, and it was working. cIOS problem/missing? Cause I removed a lot and only left d2x, bootmi, 236 patched.

Thanks for reporting the issue :)
I wouldn't have thought about the file permission, and I don't know why it matters as like you said it's not open in write mode.
I will check the issue, but I don't know if I can do anything about that.

for your shutdown issue, check the Priiloader settings.
Maybe you have the setting set to shutdown instead of return to system menu.
there's also a setting in USBLoaderGX to bypass the priiloader's choice, try to set the setting in the Settings>Features (that way, I will have a user to report if it's working fine :p)

I'll do it, I'm currently thinking of the best way to add it in the loader's menu. (because it should be added to games without ocarina codes too, currently if there's no code the .txt is deleted).

I'm also thinking of a way to update nintendont (and any file) directly from USBGX. I'm sure it will be useful seeing how it's been updated lately :p

I won't be there next week, don't expect it before 10 days.

Cyan This maybe a stupid question, is it possible now to run Wii U back ups from an HDD using USB Loader GX or something? I'm preparing myself for a Wii U and I'm gathering all the information I can get.

Extract your wad content to edit the tmd in a hexeditor.
Go to 0x1d8 in the tmd, and replace 0x00000000 to 0x00000003

205060-AHB_access_TMD_0x1d8.png

(or 0xFFFFFFFF) but only the first two bits are checked if I remember correctly.
bit 0 is for ALL hardware access from PPC, bit 1 is for DI DVD video (DVDX) only. Other bits are probably for individual hardware, but it's not required if you set bit 0.

save the tmd and put it back in your wad.
(or you can use ftpii or wiixplorer to replace the tmd file directly in NAND)

What editor do you use?

I just found a bug, USB Loader GX seems to have problems with Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, i reached sky town in Elysia and i just got the scene where Samus confronts Ghor, the game crashed and reset back to homebrew channel.

I'll do it, I'm currently thinking of the best way to add it in the loader's menu. (because it should be added to games without ocarina codes too, currently if there's no code the .txt is deleted).

Then this is not working on the latest rev, i downloaded the .txt for Twilight princess and the .txt was not erased (it has no codes) doing some testing it also allowed me to create an empty .gct file which crashes the game.

Cyan, if you recall a few days I posted about having issues with emunand and was talking about how things weren't working for me and I figured out the issue. As I stated before I try to keep as many files as I can on my usb drive and how I have everything related to USB Loader GX saved to my usb hard drive. I had the emunand saved to usb1:/usbloader_gx/nand, I decided to change the path and made a dump straight to the root of the hard drive and everything worked after that. I then moved the new dump to a new folder on the usb hard drive located at usb:/nand, everything still works and haven't had any black title screens or non playing wiiware since then. So I thought that I should bring it to someone's attention about the solution to my problem. I figured it might have something to do with the folder location being too long or too many subfolders to go through? Whatever the case is it was an easy enough fix.

I'm using customizemii to extract the wad.
And HexWorkshop to edit the file.

I don't know if it's an issue in the loader, while the game is launched the loader is not in memory anymore. To know if it's the loader, try an old version and find the one which broke the game.

Thanks for the issue with .txt not deleted. I'll check that.

TarkinMX:
I had a report that EmuNAND had issue with path containing an "-" in the path.
(banner sound not working)

I didn't know it affected game compatibility too. Thanks for the report.

Cyan,

I just fixed my problem again regarding not returning to loader. I have found that:

Priiloader, return to System Menu must be set. AND WiiConnect24 must be on and set to Standby on the Wii itself.

If one of them is not on, returning to "whatever" does not work. Well, for my Wii, I guess.

Can you try to replicate this on yours?

I remember turning off WiiConnect24 so that my Wii turns off directly and on, and not go into standby. I don't play Wii games online so for me its unnecessary, then the issue occurred.

I normally want my Wii to turn off completely after a game (pressing the power button from the Wii itself). Now I need to press and hold it to go complete off. And when I turn on my Wii, it goes straight to standby and not "on", either from the wii itself or remote.

Hello, I'm back.

I never use Standby mode, when I press power once it shutdowns the console (red light).
"Return to loader" is working fine.

When you power your wii it doesn't power it? it goes to standby? You have a strange Wii.
Something is maybe wrong in priiloader (I never use it as I have bootmii @ boot2).

Cyan,

I have installed the latest beta from priiloader itself.

That could be the reason. As my priiloader is installed as an IOS (unfortunate that I cannot install it in boot2).

Well, I don't think I can test that anymore. as I would need to have a diferrent wii that has bootmii in boot2. Unfortunately, I don't have any other wii except the current one that I'm using.

Random request: Could you add a button that adds the NoSSL patch to the Ocarina text code list? Kinda annoying having to download the codes, go to a PC and add the NoSSL code and copy the file back.
just thought about something: Wouldn't it be easier to add the NoSSL to all compatible games directly into geckocodes's list?
There's not a lot of compatible games.
I don't know who is in charge of editing the code list, but it should be easier and faster to add them for everyone, even with old/not updated Loaders version.
