the slot number has nothing to do with "speed advantage".
What's important is which IOS Base is installed in your Slot number.

if you install a cIOS based on IOS56 it will have "speed advantage" over a cIOS based on IOS57.

There's no reason to keep v8 if v10-alt work fine for you.
Either :
you replace slot249 and 250, and if 10-alt doesn't you re-install v8 in 249 and 250
or
You install v10-alt in different slot, if 10-alt doesn't work you don't need to reinstall v8 because you already have them.

I recommend to replace slot249 and 250, that way you only have the minimum IOS installed on your Wii (no need to install 40 different unneeded things).

The loader shouldn't automatically load IOS222 if you have IOS249 correctly installed (d2x v10-alt base 56 version21010)

I changed GX to always force the video mode to progressive, but it always display my MadWorld in 576i (I have the PAL game).
I finally tested CFG-Loader v70mod15, set the same settings as you and couldn't force the game in 480p (it always default to 576i).
Maybe the PAL game can't be forced to 480p at all.
I may need your help to fix the video mode patcher.
That is right.
I'm using the NTSC version for exactly this reason ( 60 Hz, full screen )
Pal version of this particular game cannot be forced to 60 HZ, as this mode is also not present on the original disc.
Same is true for Scarface PAL.
Ntsc version of these game are superior in regards of video display and Frames per second.
Even these NTSC game cannot be forced to 480P in GX, is CFG loader they can be patched to 480P ( they normally resort to 480i, unpatched

I'll be glad to test for your, No problem.

Hmm, i´m using Devolution (r200) for the first time with GX (r1215), but i can´t get the GCN language settings to work.
Tried global setting set to german or individual game setting to german, but the games still boot to english (Wii games boot to the correct language).
How can i fix this? Or is this a new "bug" with r200?

did that work in previous versions of Devo?

How do I get quadforce to work? I installed quadforce_4.1.wad, but when I try to load Mario Kart GP off USB, USB Loader GX gives the following error message:
"You need to install DIOS MIOS to run GameCube games from USB or DIOS MIOS Lite to run them from SD card."
Loading GC games off the same USB drive with DM doesn't cause that message to appear. In the settings I have "GameCube Mode" set to "MIOS (default & custom)", and "DML installed version" to "v2.2+" (though I also tried with "v1.1>v2.1", with the same results). I can successfully load MKGP using CFG USB Loader.

Are you using USB loader GX rev. 1215?
Only this latest rev. has quadforce 4.1 support.

Ok, I did it all after getting the IOSes from ModMii.
The good part is that everything seems to work fine now ...the loader recognizes both ports, games seems to work, and EmuNAND is functional.

But the bad part is ..if I have a SD card inserted, UsbLoaderGX loads IOS222 automatically at startup ...then, no EmuNAND..

Yeah ..still weird ..but not much of a problem to me right now, since I'm not using Sneek and DML yet, only DM (so I can live with my SD card out..)

Even though, weird stuff...

Do you have an USBLoaderGX setting on SD card?
The SD Card is used in priority over USB to load the settings.
If no setting is found, then it's checking each USB's partition until it find a .cfg file.

Maybe your SD card has different settings (like IOS222 as main IOS, or has a meta.xml with arguments to set IOS to 222).
Settings can be located in :

SD;/apps/usbloader_gx/
SD;/config/
USBx;/apps/usbloader_gx/
USBx;/config/
(x = 1 to 8)

Yup ..that was it ...I deleted all settings files from the SD and now it loads ISO249 as it should!! That's something I would not think of (since I literally had copy-pasted the loader files from the HDD to the SD card)... anyways, fixed :)

Thanks Cyan for your fast detective sense :p

problem fixed on the post nº 666 ? the beast was finally unleashed

Can I use both DML and Devo on USBGX and if so what setting/paths etc. do I need to use, I'm a bit stuck as my two originals Crazy Taxi and Rogue squadron don't show up on screen.

Or can I only boot them through the Devo app

In GX you can use both DM(L) + Devolution at the same time, but not Devolution from official loader + Devolution from USBloaderGX.

To display games in USBLoaderGX, you need to place the ISO in SD or USB/games/folder with the game name/game.iso
while the official Devolution loader use /games/filename_you_want.iso

USBLoaderGX doesn't support /game/file.iso, so you will have to move the files to a sub-folder, and maybe reverify the game with devolution.

The Setup:

- install DIOS MIOS (USB then)
- Install games in USB;/games/folder [GameID]/game.iso (the folder name and GameID will boost USBLoaderGX launch time, if not present it needs to open/close all files to read file's header)
- Install SD or USB;/apps/gc_devo/boot.dol (your Devolution can be either on SD or USB)

In USBLoaderGX:
- Settings > User paths > Devolution Folder : Point to the folder where Devolution's boot.dol is located (default is sd/apps/gc_devo)
- Settings > Loader Settings > GameCube Mode : Select here the default mode you want to use between "MIOS" or "Devolution". the "MIOS" = launch in GameCube Mode using the installed MIOS (MIOS/DIOS MIOS/DIOS MIOS Lite/cMIOS).

- Now, the default setting will be used for all your GameCube games, unless you go to the individual Game preferences > Game settings > GameCube Mode : Select the other mode for that game (MIOS or Devo).

If you have the same game on both USB and SD, the USB has priority if you installed DIOS MIOS, and SD has priority if you installed DIOS MIOS Lite.
It can be an inconvenient with Devolution, because the dvv and savegame is stored on the same device as the game.

Imagine you have DM installed, you play a game with Devolution. USB is prioritized and save game is located on USB.
Later you install DIOS MIOS Lite, SD is now prioritized, if you launch the same game it will be the ISO located on your SD card, you will have to reverify the ISO and you will lose your savegame.
There's an option to force the display of SD or USB only :
- Settings > Loader Settings > Gamecube Origin : SD, USB, Auto (depend on detected DML). I will add later "SD+USB" and "USB+SD" setting.

Note that all the settings starting with "DML" are for DIOS MIOS (Lite), and all settings prefixed with "DEVO" are for Devolution.
Devolution doesn't use other settings, like video mode or language path. I will update the loader to make use of the language setting for Devolution too.

Could anyone link me to the latest build please ? The OP in this thread is a mess & is almost impossible to read & take in. The latest I can find is 3.0... lol.

Thanks.

Changing language via Devolution is not going to work. At least it never did for me. USBLoaderGX cant change that. I would want to play all my GameCube games in English but sadly i have german versions and some games don't allow me to select a language :(

Builds are posted in the Beta thread on googlecode's issue tab (but you need to search them one by one).
You can also use the shared folder : http://www.mediafire.com/folder/t2x95zd9rz3rc/USBLoaderGX
I don't upload test builds here, so you will find only build corresponding the existing revisions.

EzekielRage : I added language setting support when using Devolution mode, but I need someone to test it before releasing a new revision.

Does USB Loader GX not support loading GameCube games through Devolution on the Wii U? I can load them directly through Devolution itself (having authenticated on my original Wii console using the Wii remote), but attempting to load them through USB Loader GX shuts off communication to the remote.

I just want to be sure that this is an issue with the software, and not just some obvious setting that I have overlooked.

other users didn't report anything wrong with Devolution launched from USBLoaderGX on vWii.
Your wiimotes are correctly synched with WiiU/vWii?
When you say you can launch them directly through Devolution, I suppose it's on vWii?

I don't know what could be the problem, sorry.
