USB Loader GX wont read my usb stick, I have a 4gb scandisk usb, formated to WBFS. I have installed d2x in slot 247 and 248. I also have hermes' ios 222. I have hb channel 1.1.0 and IOS58 v24.32 (or atleast thats what it says in the top right on the hb channel) The thing is, neogamma can read from it, hence muy confusion. Is there a simple solution or am I doind something wrong. I have the same problem with the usb loader GX channel.

I just updated GX loader to version 3.0 , but now i got some problems showing my covers .
Some covers are visible , but the most of them i can't see . Also when i download the covers with GX loader they are not visible .

With my previous version 2.3 they all worked perfect .
What could be the problem ???

Thanks for that symbol, I edited my post :)

40 users downloaded the new revision with the new Categories menu, but I got only one comment from a user who liked it.
Could users test it and tell me if it's too hard to understand how to use it, or if it's fine like that?
I hope it's fine, it would be too bad to remove it and go back to the old one.

For me, it's fine and allows more control over the displayed games.
- You can hide only 1 category without enabling all others one by one.
- You can display games containing two categories and hide the games with only one categories: platform+RPG will display only metroidvania, etc.

But without a tutorial, users may wonder what the new checkbox style means and get lost.

Covers you had became invisible, or only new games (such as channels, wiiware, vc, emunand, etc.) are invisible?
Check your path to the covers in the "user path settings".
Some games don't have covers available on gametdb.com

Sorry, you can't.

It's currently only on the rotating disc windows.
I guess you can switch to rotating temporarily to rename the game. it's not like you need to rename it every day.

Banner mode doesn't allow as much feature as the rotating disc, we had to "clean" all text and buttons.
We kept only the play count.

I just dumped my first GC game with usbloader. LOVE that i don't have to use discEx to make game ISO :yay:

I updated my setup to incorporate your new filter system and I'm loving it. Thanks!
Yes. It can be a bit confusing without reading your post explaining how it works, but that's what readme's are for. If someone doesn't know how to use it, they can't go wrong either, unless they start using the "X". I would hope people have the sense of not using it if they don't know what it is for.

The new filtering (x√ ) works great, thank you. Once you read that x is realy exclude everything is fine.

Sorry - the filtering is ok, but I have a problem with this buid(1189/249), that also shows up in 1188 but doesn't show up in 1178: After first loading USB Loader GX from priiloader (cios d2x249 base 56) and starting a game, the loader reloads. After this reload, the game starts fine.
Any suggestion what this might be?
Thank you

what about official release v3.0 (r1180)?

Are you using our own compiled versions or are you compiling them yourself?
I complied myself version 1188 and 1189, but Dimok compiled the other ones.

Just to know if it's related to my compiled files.

Edit:
Oh, and thank you both for your opinion on the new menu :)

Edit2:
5000th post! I never noticed I talked that much ! ahah :P

@[member='Cyan']: The problem shows in 1188/1189(the archives on mediafire with 222-249-250 - I believe these are compiled by you) and does not show in any version Dimok compiled (on mediafire).
Do you want me to also try 1130 and 1146, or to try with other base for 1189?

I think the other IOS will do the same (it changed only one bit when recompiling them).
The code is the same for all three version.
You could try with r1130 or 1146, but they are a little old, you may loose your configs (make a backup first).

I don't know why my versions would reset once and magically work on the second try.
I'm using the same libraries available from our download page (provided by dimok) and compiling with PPC r26.

On the first launch, in the credit page you have all the correct cIOS info displayed?

I don't like strange bugs, It's hard to find the cause.:P
and I don't have priiloader to test myself.

Edit:
Other users have the same problem with my builds?

I don't understand - maybe you can help: I tried 1189 compiled by you (all bases):
- Reloads on first game start, works after, BUT once it also worked after first start when I first opened the credits page
- But all builds(222, 249 and 250) show Rev 1189 IOS249Rev21009 / d2x v9beta(r49 base 56)
- I also tried editing the meta.xml and force 222 or 250 as IOS, but no change
Maybe it's something related to a HDD timeout?
I'll also check this discution - looks similar (http://code.google.com/p/usbloader-gui/issues/detail?id=1769#c2604)

the build IOS (222-249 or 250) or the IOS in the meta.xml is only the IOS used to boot the loader, to access the devices (SD or USB) and find the config file on it.
Once the config file is found and parsed, it check the IOS you want to use (here, you have 249 in your settings), so it reload that IOS before showing you the main screen of the loader.

You will never see a change in the credit page by changing the meta.xml argument or by using a different cIOS build.
the cIOS used is always the one set in your config file.

The Boot IOS is only used to speed up the booting process by preventing an IOS reload.
use boot 249 if you want IOS249 in the setting.
if you use the version 249 but set 250 in your settings, the loader will reload the slot250 after the boot.

Edit:
I watched the video from the issue thread.
Did you try waiting for all the banner animation to load?
Did you try using another layout (list/wall/carousel)?

I'm trying to convert a Riivolution patch to a Gecko-style gameconfig.txt, but when I enable Ocarina in GX, no gct file is found and therefore no patching is done. Is it possible to use only a gameconfig.txt file for cheats? If not, does a gct file have to contain any code to activate the gameconfig.txt? I've tried using a 0-byte gct, but none of the pokes are doing anything when I use my usb gecko to check the memory locations.

(The patch is for Another SMBW and uses only poke functions.)

I never used gameconfig.txt yet.
Did you try selecting a hooktype? by default it activates it when using ocarina, but you can force it when launching a game (for debugging purpose for example, without the need of ocarina).

I'll check the sources to see when gameconfig.txt is loaded.

Edit:
This is how it's working.

When you boot a title, it check Ocarina (line 398), then check the handler (line 483).
If you enabled a hooktype, it patch the content of gameconfig.txt. (line 557)
But it seems it's loading gameconfig.txt file only only if Ocarina is enabled and a code is found. (line777)

I can try gameconfig.txt patching if you explain what it should do.
I just copy the content of your spoiler (the gameconfig part) in a gameconfig.txt file, then boot NSMB?
what should I see in game to know that it worked?
Can you provide your correct gameconfig.txt?

@pdanpdan
Dimok made a new beta (in issue thread) with a different caching method. (stopping the channel caching sooner when launching a game).
could you try it too?
Dimok compiled version
my compiled version

Cyan:
Would it be possible to add support for using IOS58 to load games?
This would help on compatibility for launching certain channels like RawkSD, Tantric's emus, etc.

Possible, yes.
If I'll do it... I'll try but not promise it.

In the meantime, did you try installing IOS58 in another slot? like 248?
It should be treated as a Waninkoko cIOS though. 222~224 is hermes, above it's waninkoko/d2x.
Though, you won't be able to use EmuNand, as it require the cIOS (waninkoko/d2x) functions to access it, but it should work for real nand channels.

I didn't try, it was just an idea I got when reading your message. It may not work at all.

I got an issue using r1189 and it wont detect my SD for games the option is greyed out in HDD Settings.... Am I missing something? I posted a question on ask temp & yet the help was unable to fix the problem nor do they care of the issue on the beta thread so now I'm asking you all. Thanks in advance for any advice you may be able to give me.

FYI: I can load usbloader_gx from sd or usb & have tried all 3 flavors of 222,249,250 and all I can choose is the hdd for games. This is a fresh install & I have tested my sd for loading games from WiiFlow and it works so maybe it was removed? Can anyone else confirm this?
