I've seen in Neogamma thread that there's also a new way to manage the block IOS reload by storing the informations on the nand (and choosing which IOS to reload manually), but it's only for Disc?
I tried checking the sources quickly, but it's not like neogamma

It could be a new additions for the next releases too.

A thing that Giantpune once said "let's install all cIOS base in all slots (236[36], 237[37] etc.), and let the cIOS redirect the IOS_reload asked by the game to the one using the correct base". It could be done too Davebaol? (don't do it, it's just for the idea)

Thanks a ton Cyan. I wasn't expecting help I just posted that along with my comment, so I really appreciate it. I wasn't following a tutorial. I already had a lot of this stuff installed it's just been a while since I've been messed with anything. I had rev17 installed before I decided to see what was up with the homebrew scene again. All of a sudden GX is on 2.0, I'm way behind on CFG releases and there's a rev21.

I am trying to install the latest usbloader gx 2.0 wad (channel) wad manager 1.7 but every time I get the error (-1022)

My rig is 4.3e loaded ios249 (have tried many others)

Strangley if I use the easy windows exe, the forwarder works? but I would much prefer the actual full channel.

I have managed to download all d2x files (7 of them are 249)
However they all have different base, could you please tell me which one I should install?

Also do I need to uninstall the older 249 first?

Ok I installed the 249 38 version as that was what I already had, I did uninstall the old version first.
Have also tried 249 base 56

But I am still getting the error?

Dexter was helping the above poster (Ancient) and asked if launching from HBC worked or not for him.

Dexter helped the developers, I guess he knows how the loader is working

Hello. I really need help. So I have my 16 gb micro sd card to work as an external HDD and all but all I need to do is format it into WBFS but the problem is that I also use the card for my R4 and I have already backed up my files. My question is when I format my disk to WBFS for my Wii, What method do I have to use to format it back to FAT32 for my R4. Also for my iPod touch is jailbroken and I installed the USB drive app to make it into a HDD when I format that into WBFS will it work for the Wii? And will I be able to undo that back to FAT32 as well.

Solved... I was just deleting the old usbloader channel (which had installed fine) from the system menu.
I thought this would be ok as it got rid of the channel...but I guess it leaves something behind?

I tried the uninstall feature on MMM (after I got rid of it through system menu)
I didn't think it would do anything as the channel was no longer there but to my surprise it said uninstalled.
I then tried installing the latest version and all was ok.

Just curious... why don't you use the forwarder channel rather than loading GX as a channel? It makes updates so much easier. In the history of GX, I believe I've only had to change the forwarder channel once or twice... and I've likely tried ALL the revisions.

I believe it also uses less memory but not positive.

Not being critical, just wondered what the advantages of using GX as a channel are over using a forwarder.

Why don't you just leave your SD card FAT32? It will work fine on the Wii - just make a 'wbfs' directory in root and use Wii Backup Manager, or the Wii, to install your games. I've used R4s for years and can promise that the DS and Wii files can all live side by side with no problems

I used to run a bot called Eggdrop to keep Dexter and my rooms from takeover in the early 90s but I probably haven't used IRC since the 90s lol I suppose that's old tech. Advantage is Usbloader still works without an sd card / files do not need to be loaded onto drive.

Thanks, Dex. It works fine except for one thing. My USB Loader is stuck on "Initialize USB Device" and I don't know what to do. My Wii firmware is 4.3U and the Loader is on version 2.1. What do I do?

First try some basic troubleshooting. Try to load GX from an SD card in homebrew channel with fresh cofig files. If that works install the forwarder channel

Where Do I get the fresh config files and also. I tried that already and it's still doing the same thing. Maybe if I had the fresh config files, it could work.

Problem Solved, My Brother took my flash drive and replaced it with a broken one. It was amazing that the Wii could read it at all. So He told me, He put the right flash drive back into the Wii and it works like a charm. I'm so relived before I did something stupid....Now to re-install all 20 games back into the drive.

Wow, just updated my 4.1U's IOS/cIOS with ModWii (what a great updater!) after one year of dust accumulation

Now MDK2 wiiware can play (still prefer Dreamcast version though)

Then I was forced to update my USBLoader GX because it refused to work. What a relief to fall on v2.1 r1080 IOS222!!!
no-disc now works again!
dual-layer .wbfs now works on ntsc again!
PoP still works without using a wip!
alternate-dol games still work without probs (yes, even Metroid Prime Trilogy)!
in short, a marvelous update

Now for the bugs:
List mode, that only contains one game, won't allow you to launch the game (you have to use the other modes)
When I use the D-pad to go to a specific game, and then press A to launch it, I get frustrated

I usually get that damn ID editor or the other things, depending where my wiimote was pointing to (useless crap, bring the D-pad / A combo back please)

That's it for bugs!
Everything else just works like a charm!

I have got the latest version of USB Loader GX and I am following the instructions cyan gave me about changing the language to japanese, but whenever i go to themes and try to apply the theme i get a code dump. is there a way i can have this output to a file or should i post it on here? what should I do?

I didn't try the japanese display myself, I'll try it too and see if I have a code dump.

About the code dump, if you have an USBgecko, you can log the output to your computer.
I think you don't have one, so you'll have to take a screenshot with your camera.

When you say latest, please say the revision number found in the credit menu.
latest beta is r1084
latest official is v2.1 (r1079 & r1080).

if you test a beta, please give the version of the file you downloaded too (249 or 222).

GX now compatible with the "return to" patch of the cIOSd2x v5, allowing "return to" to be used with prince of persia forgotten sands.
Block IOS reload now use the one of the cIOS d2x v5 beta1 (need beta2 for WBFS), allowing games like metroid trilogy to work without alt dol

Sorry, I should have been more clear, when I say latest, I mean I downloaded the "easy exe installer" or whatever its titled on the site and ran that, it did everything else. I checked for updates once everything was up and running and it said there were none, but I will get you the version number and a picture (don't have a USBgecko) when I get home. Thanks again Cyan!
