Thanks you everyone for your reply. It must be something I'm doing, so I'm chalking this up to PEBCAK, or in this case PEBWmAS (Problem Exists Between Wiimote And Sofa). It's a moot point anyways as I got off the sidelines and upgraded to rev21 which gives me version 21 when I install as 250 explicitly. So long rev20b lol.

Besides, it's time to open presents and drink more special eggnog

I need a little help here guys. I went to the Google codes page to find my answer and I'm still not clear. What I found was this:

The partitions have to be formatted to FAT. Mark the partition you want to use for WBFS as Active.

If you make multiple partitions, the First partition must be the one for image,... and the second one for WBFS (for Wii games)

I had created a long time ago two separate partitions on my USB drive. One for my Wii games(FAT32) and one for movies to play(NTFS). I finally run out of space on the Wii games partition. I don't use the partition for movies anymore. I re-formatted this partition to WBFS from the WBFS intelligent gui program and then placed a few games on there from WBFS.

Now, USB Loader GX doesn't seem to recognize this partition. Is this normal? Do all of my games have to be on the same partition or can the application utilize two separate partitions for just games? Thanks!

did you try to select the second partition in the loader preferences ?
Currently, the loader can only see 1 partition at a time. (maybe later it will be possible to list all partition)

You could have formated the second partition to FAT32, or even left the partition to NTFS. You now FAT32 and NTFS are both supported.
You just needed to put your games in a drive:/wbfs/ folder, then in USBloaderGX go to the settings and select the partition you want to be read.

now that it's done and you have formated the second partition to WBFS :
Is that a primary partition, or part of an extended partition? WBFS partition is not compatible with extended. (it can work, but it's subject to problems, like ghost games still present even after deleting them, formating the partition again doesn't delete the previous data. I had the case myself)

Well, I went back and formatted the 2nd partition with WiiBackupManager. I created a folder called "WBFS" on the root of the 2nd partition. I then copied a couple games to that partition.

Where from USB Loader GX is the setting for selecting or changing the partitions? I don't see it. I see "Custom Paths" which is all data related to the SD Card. I didn't extend partitions. The newly formatted partition shows up as "primary" from EASEUS Partition Master. I think the problem comes in with the 2nd partition not being seen from USB Loader GX.

I need help with getting the application to notice the partition. I can't find it with the program loaded from the Wii. I know there's the "settings" option once loaded but I don't see any options for partitions selection. Is this from the "Custom Paths" selection or what? Thanks!

To change the partition

In the loader go to the game setup (where the ios setting is) - just below this is the partition, it should say something like Fat32 485GB, click this and select another partition.

I have found with GX up to rev1000 it does not like 2 partitions of the same type - 2 x Fat partitions do not swap correctly, 1 x Fat and 1 x wbfs (or NTFS) swap fine. Have not tried the latest revisions with 2 x partitions of the same type

Hmm! I never noticed this before from the loader. Then again, I haven't needed to notice with only one partition being used for games.

I can't even remember now what I formatted the first partion. I guess it was WBFS since I can use WBFS Intelligent Gui to transfer games from PC. I don't believe that program will detect FAT32 or NTFS, right?

By "game setup" you mean this is a selection from the "preferences/settings"? I haven't needed to fool with checking the settings much really. I'm not too familiar with this area of the loader even though I've been using this USB Loader program for a long time. I do know I set the ios 002 error fix to "ON" before though. Is this the same area you're talking about for the partition selection? Thanks!

I've never seen that option before from the loader. I've noticed the "Ocarina" option before but I don't remember seeing anything like "partition" selection under that. I would have seen that before I believe. I know the "IOS" option is there because I've seen that too.

I'll have to go back and check but I don't ever remember seeing the 'partition' option before from the settings. BTW, I'm using a little older cios rev but I can't remember which one at the moment. Does that have anything to do with it?

the CIOS shouldn't hide/show certain settings. not sure if this was asked before, but what version of the loader are you using? go to settings then there should be an "about" or something like that on the 3rd screen

I believe I'm using the latest one from the first post of this thread. I'll check and see. Thanks!

This is probably a simple question, so I'm sorry about how noobish it sounds. I should know better!
I just changed the DOL on my copy of GX. For some reason they one I had would not use my GCT files. So I just downloaded r938 dol. It reads my GCT files again. Now when I use that it seems when I exit a game while using GX. Instead of sending back to the loader it just resets the Wii back to the main menu.

My question is there a way to fix this as in turn something on. Or is there a better version I should be using. That allows me to use my GCT codes, and still have the Loader work like it did before?

Thank You

I think the return to loader was an option in earlier revs but too buggy so it was removed, if I'm not mistaken, I believe there's an option in the newer beta revs that will allow what you're looking for. I could be wrong though

Hmm so stick with the one I had! That has problems reading GCT files or use the new one. That resets back to the Wii menu after every game. Ok then I keep looking around. I wish I knew why the one I was using stop reading GCT files. Thanks

Alright cool I figured it out.

What you'll need to do is first delete ALL usb loader GX settings everything, it would probably be safe to delete all covers wiitdb etc just to be safe, download r1019

http://www.mediafire.com/?q58lv183cjlub57

Extract, rename the .dol to boot.dol (ignore the .elf)

here's the meta if you want it
http://www.mediafire.com/?a8wi6czbom8n6tg

go to settings > game load

change the boot/standard to the cIOS you normally use and make sure to toggle the proper partition. click "Return to" option and click the first one, the title should be something like "...."

Return to loader and restart the USB Loader, re-download your cheats and make the new GTC. start up a game to test it out if it returns to the HBC

let me know if that helps or if you have any issues

@thewon
Use r927 (this is the latest official release with the "return to loader" patch)
if you want, you can also use the latest beta from here.
In the new revision, you can choose which channel you want to return to (any forwarder, HBC, etc.)

Attention, delete all your config and gamestats files, a lot of changes happened.
The image path for storing covers is now subfolder of the apps/usbloader_gx/ folder.

About your GCT problem, are you using alternative dol at the same time ? there was a bug, fixed in betas.

Edit : like Shano said, except for the "return to".
DO NOT select the first one
just select the correct channel, the USBloaderGX forwarder has TitleID : UNEO
(of course, you need to install that forwarder first, it's newer than the 16_06_09, it's from 11_2010 and is launching with all AHBPROT flags).

@tonybologna
The first post has not been updated for a very long time.
The loader is now at revision 1020 !
look for the latest beta (works with any recent cIOS), or the latest official (but works only with cIOS rev17).
There is also the latest officially stable version : 883

Thanks!
I do know I didn't delete my settings. I will also check out the versions you both suggested.
Al so not using alternate Dol!

Thanks Again!

Well, I'm on v1.0 but I don't know which 1.0 I have installed. I haven't used an updated version since late last year. Heck, I don't even know which cIOS I have installed. It's probably been that long too. I'll have to check my SD Card to see which cIOS I have going. Which version of USB Laoder GX added the "partition" option from the settings page? Or, should that have been an option even with older versions because I don't have it? Thanks!
