aha it is a usb powered HDD indeed... I'll try to give him some extra power and I'll be back to inform you...
Try a split cable, if you have one. That way you can use both ports for power.

anyone having proba with update does not seem to want to update from the wii

yup i've had "no updates available" for ages now even though there is newer ones available.

i've been having to manually update by sticking the sd card in the puter to do it.
Allright, here we go again: we have versions and revisions. Revisions are untested commits we've done into source control. After such revision has been thoroughly tested, we upload it to our update server. From that point forward, you will see the update available in USB GX. Right now, the latest version is 843 when using the stand-alone version, when using the channel, it's 815. Somewhere in the 86x range, we added the option to allow updating to beta versions (so called revisions), but that is, of course, your own choice.

so we still will be able to update with the wii when they came out

Well, I had a problem back on page 792 and r-win attempted to help me with it. It was a gallant effort made by r-win, thank you very much but the problem was still not solved until today. I don't know why, I don't know how, but I finally found my fix. Just as I posted my problem, I am now going to post my PROPER remedy. I had a problem updating GX with the network update. After the update I kept getting code dumps for unknown reasons whenever I used a forwarder. I tried everything, I tested everything (I thought). I finally started trying different forwarders and found 1 that worked today. The forwarder that works is USB_Loader_GX-UNEO_Forwarder_09.06.09.rar. The forwarder I had installed that was getting a code dump was USB_Loader_GX-UNEO_Forwarder_16.06.09.rar.

If anyone needs more info on the situation, check page 792 and on. I CAN reproduce the code dump every time. If I install 16_06_09 i get a code dump every time. If I install 09_06_09 it runs fine. I have redownloaded each, multiple times, as to eliminate any doubt. I have done a lot of other obvious things to eliminate any doubt.

If someone would like to check further into this, hey that's great. If not, that's fine also. I just wanted to speak my peace.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year Everyone, (in case I'm not here then)

ChokeD

P.S. These are the files specifically that I used.

the theme downloader can download them fine but cant install them when downloaded.... is this because they come as rar file and it isn't capable of dealing with a rar? not a problem to manually deal with but why have it download onto wii if you still have to use your pc anyways to unrar and install?..... other than that it works a mint.... i make it crash when i do something in the sounds options as well but didn't get the code dump... once again awesome goodness.... ps i use my old xbox 360 120 gig hdd with the transfer cable and it works a mint lol

I wonder if anybody of you is able to play proper PAL avatar release with usb loader gx?
All I get is a black screen... Neogamma gives me green screen. it only works with uloader...

What settings should be made in GX ?

I'm noticing more and more games requiring the "002 fix" to be enabled.

Will anything bad happen if I just enable the 002 fix globally for all games, whether they need it or not?
this is exactly what the anti option is for.

it only applies the fix to the games that need it.

SERIOUSLY??? I've always wondered what that meant. What the hell! Why is there a choice for on or off then if anti would cover everything?

anti doesnt cover everything. different versions of cIOS249 handled the 002 stuff in different ways. so there are different settings for it. just set it to whatever works with the IOS that you are using. it will always be the same required setting for the same IOS.

We are in the process of getting the gx theme makers to reupload all rar,d themes as zip files or have them removed.
the option to upload as rar has been removed from the site any new themes added will not cause this problem

I have rebuilt the original forwarder if anyone is interested...

quality appears the same and looks the same.. uses same dol as the official forwarder, so loads the loader quickly from USB and SD...

just uses only 13 blocks much less than the official one uses...

no point me posting a video... As it looks the same as the official forwarder.. just uses less space on the nand..

Hi, GBAtemp experts and community.

In regards to USB loader, I thought I would mention one very minor thing I noticed with my current version.

Using:

Rev866 IOS249(Rev 14)

Under "Settings" and "Sound", whenever I hit "Backgroundmusic" to try to change my music (OGG format and under 3 MB),
it code dumps, then reloads.

My folder heading (backgroundmusic) is correctly named, and everything seems right.
Naturally I assume that because I could change music in previous revisions, that this is just a temporary problem.
It's an excellent loader that I've used for quite some time.

I just thought I'd post this.

I'll try it, thanks jono.
