USB fat support is out

check the latest news post at the site for more info

OR
check the site's http://usbloadergx.koureio.net/ download page for the
latest official channel (r475 - 2009/06/08),
the new official forwarder (2009/06/09),
official covers (2009/05/28) and discs (2009/05/30) packs, language files,
old hermes 222 which was compatible, Waninkoko's cIOS38 v13b plus anything else that worth the space

You can also grab the now outdated pack of Version 1.0 for the icon and meta file.AND
Click here to stay informed on the current NEWS about the loader and important stuff
(plz read
the first post or the help page + FAQ page at the sitebefore asking
)

People who cant load the loader or having some troubles
they should try to use .ELF
since .ELF is a lot more accurate in processing code

You can run the application from the USB hard drive and store things like the config settings, cover art, and eventually per-game .xml information files there as well. You don't need an SD card in this scenario, you can just run it all off of the hard drive.

...tHX, but whats with the HBC, can I run all my HBC Apps from USB Drive ???

Ok, I don't know how to do this...

What are these r###? The latest is r488 right? All I have to do with this is just rename it to boot.dol/boot.elf and replace in with the older boot.dol/.elf that was in the USB Loader GX folder already?

Yes delete the old .dol and rename the new r???.dol to boot.dol and place it where the old one was
The latest is r489 but there is no .dol made of it yet

Im glad this is going the way of making the drive read the fat32 partition - its the part of the loader i was always hoping for so thanks to whoever got this going.

It means the loaders can now have the option of downloading the covers directly to a harddrive and running everything independently of an SD card. It makes life so much easier in the long run.

so can this load games directly from the fat32 partition too? or does the drive still need to be partitioned with a wbfs ?

Im having a problem with this, I managed to install everything just fine, and when i load up usb loader gx i am able to boot the iso, and play the game, but when i quit the game and try to boot up another iso (or the same one infact), it freezes...

anybody else having the same problem? Im using a 250gb maxtor basics external hard drive btw...

Any feedback would be great, cheers.

this is a bug with cios rev 13. it tends to freeze if u try to load another game... if u install cios rev 10 it should be fine then.

I haven't got the chance to use the USB Loader GX with the new r488 but how do you load games onto your FAT32 partition using the computer/wii? The USB Loader GX I have been using allowed for WBFS so does that mean that now it will be able to rip and load from FAT32?

Cant believe people keep asking the same questions. The FAT32 is a substitute for a sd card, which means that your config files, themes and so on can be loaded directly off your HDD instead of an sd card if that what you want's. You CAN'T load games from that partition.

To bad there isn't a partition magic style app that can add a fat partition to a drive that has a single WBFS partitioning the entire drive. I don't want to reformat and copy 400 gigs just to create a 16 gig fat partition.

Hi, also in this last revision i have a problem, in grid view i see...nothing.
But if i press everywhere on the screen i see xml page of the games, with no image.

Work in progress...

Have you tried changing the settings to widescreen in the gamesettings? I read something about a guy having the exact same problem as you, and this fixed it.

Ah, ok thanks for the answer. Please excuse my ignorance of the USB Loader, I just recently used it after I had trouble with Punch Out and Madworld with the Gamma Loader. Is there a FAQ that I can read so I can avoid asking stupid/repeated questions?
