Hacking USB Loader GX

Thanks for the info guys.

1. So for the Forwarder file do I need to rename the extension to boot.dol?

2. If so, do I just install same was as SD:/apps/usbloader_gx/boot.dol ---> where I rename the Forwarder.wad to boot.dol?

yes thats how it has to be
SD:/apps/usbloader_gx/boot.dol
then install the forwarder with the wad manager

Unlock the console (in the options menu, the basic password is ab121b)
The you can insert a disc and click the add game button

Ok first off thank you so much for working hard on add the grid to this great looking loader. I ask for it and you went and done much better and faster than I thought. I love it! I just tryed out the r407 and I know you worked hard on it however if I could be a pain for one small change. I have a lot of games backup on my wii, so the more images on the screen the better. And I thank that you could get one more pic in each row to make it two rows of 5 pics. You may have been thanking the same thing I don't know. But thank you so much I pictured it and you made it. Thats what dreams are all about.

Sorry for asking this question again - but need clarification before I do the steps.

1. The USB Loader GX-ULNR r366.wad file gets renamed to boot.dol and placed in the following folder:

SD:/apps/usbloader_gx/

2. Now where do I place the USB Loader GX-UNEO_Forwarder.wad file?

From what I understand the forwarder file will read the boot.dol to install.

1. lol NO. That is a channel. You use the wad manager to install it. Those steps are for the dol (check my previous post for a link to that)

2. This a channel forwarder. It's installed like the previous one but it also need the dol placed to SD:/apps/usbloader_gx/ for it to work. We use the forwarder for easier updates

I think that what I will do is when someone downloads the forwarder, it will zip up the latest revision as well and have them placed into the correct folders so there is less confusion abut them..... I have never used zip through the web and not sure if my host supports it, so I will play around with it and see what I can do to help with that.

it's been a while since i installed a new verison of this loader
I think I understand the new buttons on top. it's for the favorites list, order by alphabet, order by times played right?
but what are those other two?That`s what I ask myself, too... You`re right with the other three

Just tested it
The left one is coverflow (and gets replaced by another icon in coverflow mode to go to list mode)
The other one is not even clickable, but I'm going to try again without a skin applied
edit: ok strange, you can click it only once, and it does nothing (as far as I see)

First thanks to all for this, its great and is the best/most complete usbloader to date thank you for all your time put into this, i use it almost daily. One question is there anyway to add back in being able to push the + button to install a game once its in unlocked state? I keep pushing it when i want to install a game but it dont work, the icon for it is even still a + button, it would be cool to get the prompt box to install a new game when you press it ^^. again thanks for this great loader

In that link i clicked the mediafire folder under forwarders and channel -- and downloaded USB_Loader_GX_forwarder_v1.dol

that was also a forwarder, not usbloader, that's why you got an error

Anyway, yes you still need the SD for the covers and to save settings

Grid? Nice so now this has two view modes, all this needs is cover flow (in like a few months or whatever, no rush) and it will officially be the loader to end all loaders hah. This thing is really awesome and it never ceases to amaze me with its constant progress. The only suggestion I would still really like to see is a per game background for the loader if that is possible. Like when selecting Metroid Prime 3 a Metriod Prime 3 Wallpaper comes up. I know this would likely mean anoootttthhherrr folder which is a pain to some but it would really bring the loader to life. Anyway I can't code so I can't complain keep up the good work, this is remarkable!

With grid they mean the new view mode (with only the covers in a GRID)
and changing backgrounds is possible, but it will take a lot of space and time to create it. But maybe it will be there

Hmm, I didn't think about that, but its true. Even loading a theme takes some time.
While I'm posting, can I ask what the 5th button does/will do? I can only click it once and nothing happens

Ahh. So you mean basically it would lead to more lag or even errors? That's a shame but obviously its not a deal breaking feature, would just look cool. I am excited to try the grid out in a few days when I get back to my Wii. Again REALLY good job!

People who cant load the loader or having some troubles
they should try to use .ELF
since .ELF is a lot more accurate in processing code​

One kick kestion that just needs a kick answer ....why are u having the trouble of implementing that "grid" option of view....if u can implement that option of view that someone talked about 2 or 3 pages before... ? My suggestion is, if u want to implement something like this, implement that kind of view...its really perfect.

after you unlocked it go to password and delete it
it will show and it will stay unlocked till you give a new password

just a little question , hope you will answer it ^^


i'm on the way to install this loader , that seems to be the greatest for the moment.
my wii is running under wiikey but isos on HDD is really better , no dvd waste (and money of course)
i plan on installing via forwarder , cause updates are multiple ^^
could someone list me the different folders i must create on my SD ?
i will use the official forwarder , and plan on using themes , covers , a language file (french) , and all the features possible ^^
