Hi,

I've got an external HDD that I'm using, it was detected when I loaded USB Loader GX prior to downloading the cIOSs. It then was getting stuck on re-initalising devices (and I saw the hard drive light turn off). I ran SysCheck, it got stuck on both 249 and 250. I skipped them, passed the csv to ModMii which gave me a few things to install. After all this, still didn't work. I ended up booting into SD mode and changing the loader ios manually to 251 which has seemed to work.

My question is, will this cause any issues? I didn't have to do this when I modded a friend's Wii a few weeks ago. Was it the fact I used a different hard drive? (Both hard drives are 250ish GB 2.5 inch drives from aliexpress)

EDIT: Also worth noting I had to change the Game IOS in UGX to 251 also as when I tried to launch a game (Mario & Sonic Olympic Games) it black screened initially.

Assuming it's formatted correctly (MBR and Fat32) then yeah. That being said, some changes might be coming eventually that could improve your compatibility, hard to say (also I'm not sure how much I'm allowed to say, lol)

Yeah can confirm all is formatted correctly! VERY EXCITING!!! We love a lil spoiler xD

Hi, I noticed that the number of times played doesn't increase in the Nintendo channel statistics page when launched from USB Loader GX.
I have the option to log play time to the Wii message board (should be on by default imo) and play time does increase properly.

Are you using an ethernet adapter? If you are, that's the reason. You'll need to try forcing the game to use cIOS 251 (base 58), but many games won't work with it.
What about actually within USB Loader GX itself, to download covers and etc? otherwise would i just have to disconnect my adapter?

Sorry for the actaul late response.

EDIT: I've set the actual loader iOS to use cIOS 251, so it now actually downloads any required assets such as custom banners, covers and etc.

Also i changed the game IOS for a couple of games to cIOS 251, so now they're able to go online whether via wiimmfi or otherwise alternatively, wiilink24 for when they do game nights using their own server (now if only I could actually get some kind of a wireless controller such as dualshock 3 working without actually needing an adapter within vWii mode).

Hey all, I hope everyone is having a great holiday.

Since GameTDB is moving servers, their box art maker is down. The dev was kind enough to provide the .psd template files, but I'm wondering about the cover that's used in USB Loader GX.

Does it crop from the GameTDB file that's downloaded? The cover art has 'USB Loader GX' on the spine. I'm trying to make a few covers for forwarders and modded games. Any tips or suggestions on how to approach it? Thanks, all.

Take an original that was downloaded and saved to your sd or usb, then copy it, rename to match the new title ID, and modify it as needed

I hadnt updated to the latest stable version of USB Loader GX but after doing so I cant seem to boot new games that I have installed. It just goes into a black screen and the system locks. All previous games seems to run fine. Is there any tinkering in the settings that is requiered? I see the games in the databse with covers and everything

Do you have the lastest IOS installed? (check usboader GX GitHub) And do a clean install of USB loader GX (but keep the images folder).

Yes. But I managed to solve it now.
I forced NTSC and set iOS to 250 and it worked.

Silly question, but how does one save WADs/WiiWare games on the SD memory and not the internal storage?

Hi!
A game sorter would be a nice implementation

for example
- sort for region
- sort for players 1 2 3 4
- sort for nunchucks needed

Or so on

Thanks
tldr; I wrote a python script awhile back which I just updated to add just that. Because new users can't post links you can find the script in my Github at AdventGit in the repo USBLoaderGX-Autogen-Categories.

I got my modded Wii back from my sister so I could set it up to play Guitar Hero and return it so I was going through the motions of updating everything and came across the new USBLoaderGX update. Actually really loving it, though I have managed to crash it a few times >:). Was reading the forums to see if a method to add "random" ROM files to the main page of USBLoaderGX existed (like ROMs in sd:/snes9xgx/roms or usb1:/vbagx/roms) and came across your post which prompted me to update the script I made awhile back to include your ideas because I figured my sister would like those options too. Sadly I haven't found anything about adding "random" ROM files to USBLoaderGX yet but I'll keep looking a little longer :(.

ps: "random" as in any number of locations the ROMS are found in from any number of emulators you might have.

Try a fresh install. Sometimes overwriting an older installation with a newer one retains some problematic settings or something like that. So if erase or rename your usbloader_gx folder then copy over the latest version fresh. That plus ensure your cios are up to date oc

Hi. Does USB loader GX has a "reload cache" option or similar like wiiflow lite? Recently modded my Wii and USB loader GX suddenly stopped recognizing any new GameCube games that I added for some reason. I tried wiiflow and the same thing happened but that "reload cache" option fixed it. There's nothing wrong with wiiflow but I was starting to have fun installing custom GameCube banners in usbloadergx
