Hi, I'm Lobo Nintendista. I noticed that @Jacoby6000!'s usb gx 3 0 r1282 charger has the ability to set up its own private server. I was wondering if there was a way to revive Call of Duty on Wii to play online with this feature. A lot of people used to play online, and after the servers went down, people really missed playing these games online again.

Is it possible to have the games return to the USB Loader when pressing HOME -> Return to Wii Menu?
Yes, it requires installing the forwarder channel to the Wii menu and then you can set it to return to USB Loader GX from the global settings or from individual game settings.

good evening , i need some help regarding USB Loader GX , every time i try to load a recent version of the software on my Wii it ends up crashing and a bunch of text on a black background appears , is there any fix to this? id like to fix it as soon as possible
It happens to me as well, the latest version is crashing when running a installed game and I still have the issue of it ignoring custom settings when running a game directly from disc (e.g. If I run a certain game from the disc, it wil ignore all my custom settings like emunand or cheats and will run like the Disc Channel would, but if I install the exact same game, it applies all the settings)

I still search for some version that the custom settings work for both disc and installed games as 1247. I think it was the version that works the best for me but since it is old, it doesnt integrate well with other features that got updated past this version like wiimmfi (some games dont work unless manually patched to be online) and nintendont (there is no way to adjust the screen and use bba on this version for example, it will always load with the features it supported at the time).

edit: the culprit of the crashing was the 480p fix enabled by default, but disabling it still makes Just Dance 4 fail to start, it just doesnt make a loud noise with the text.

If anyone has an issue with Ocarina cheats not being applied in USB Loader GX (even though they apply just fine with other loaders like NeoGamma) I traced down the issue to it being a problem with USBLGX loading d2x-v11-beta1 cISO, which the USBLGX instructions say to install. Installing d2x v6 in a slot enabled USBLGX to apply cheats again.

The project has disabled Issues so I can't even report the details of this bug, but at least I'll post here so that a Googler will find it should they have the same problem.

Is it possible to download cheat codes in bulk for all of your installed games or is downloading them per game via settings the only option?

Mortal Kombat Armageddon seem to be problematic game. It used to work fine and be able to return back to the loader before. But now if I try to return back to the loader after launching it, it freezes at black screen. So far other wii games I tried return back to the loader just fine. I tried installing previous cIOS and new v11 cIOS. I checked the backup with Wii Backup Manager. Any solutions?
To quote this post from January 23rd, 2023 when r1281 was released by @blackb0x. I found out that several games that I had such as Mortal Kombat Armageddon, Medal of Honor Heroes 2 and Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers froze at black screen when trying to return to USB Loader GX.
@blackb0x wrote to me in private messages and provided me with several builds to test. The final one he sent me fixed the issue. I have attached that working build here. He was going to incorporate this fix in r1282.

This is the message he sent me with that build:

"This version uses exactly the same source code as r1281 from GitHub, but it's been compiled from my own PC. So it may be slightly larger or smaller and that could impact where certain bytes land in memory. So if this version doesn't freeze for you then I'll know that it's caused by a memory conflict and that'll make things a little more tricky to permanently fix. However, if it does freeze for you then I can only assume that my changs for r1282 have fixed the issue."

@Jacoby6000: I have tried your v3.0-r1282 and this issue still persists. Can you look into this issue?

As far as I know, d2x v11 cIOS was not the issue. r1272 before the last release worked without such issues.

EDIT: I am using WiiU. Haven't tested on my Wii.

Another thing that can benefit Wii U users is add and option to Toggle Wii U widescreen mode per game (like WiiFlow has), i know there is an option for toggling that in features/settings but doesn't persist.
@Jacoby6000 can you take a look to this? Thanks!

There will be a new release soon.

I won't get into specifics, but you can expect bug fixes, improved game compatibility, and some new features :)

You're going to like the next update, since it already does something better than that ;)

Long time missing. Are you OK buddy?
I'm good now, thanks :)

I took a break because I lost a family member at the start of the year and I was suffering from burnout. And I honestly didn't know when I'd be back, but I recently started working on the project again. But now I'm working at my own speed, I'm taking more breaks, and I'm not doing any late-night coding.

welcome back, hope everything is getting better.

I'm glad blackb0x has publicly announced his return on gbatemp! It's been difficult containing my excitement and biting my tongue as I've known about this for awhile, but I wanted to respect his wishes to keep a low profile for the time being. As far as I know, he made his first public (re)appearance in the ModMii discord back on Aug 1st, so all of you just learning about this now should consider joining the ModMii Discord. In fact, if you go digging through the discord history you might just find some of the "specifics" blackb0x mentioned.

@blackb0x, when I first heard from you again a couple months ago it literally felt like Christmas came early! I'm super glad to have you back my friend. Now don't overwork yourself like last time because you're not allowed any more sabbaticals you hear?! jk

In the future please try to keep private test builds private. I understand why you felt like sharing since blackb0x had been MIA for so long, but I'm taking an educated guess that it was this message that compelled him to step back into the limelight a bit sooner than he might have preferred. I think he may still need some testers but being able to keep things secret is probably the most important quality a beta tester can have.

I hope I'm not coming off too harshly, especially since it's not my place to play judge and jury. Already I feel like I'm walking a fine line as I don't want to break anyone's trust in me either. Just some unsolicited advice from an old wii hacker who's been doing this awhile :)

edit: btw, last year blackb0x shared a test build with me too that greatly improved usb flash drive compatibility. I thought about sharing it too but decided against it for the reasons stated above (that plus like you I was missing source code), so I might understand better than most the difficult position you were in. No hard feelings, at least none from me
