It is the issue that I have with any newer USBGX version, especially when I am playing a game directly from the disc. The only way I found to make emunand work is using rev1247.
Thank you so much for this information. It makes me feel better that I'm not the only one suffering from this issue. Is rev1247 the latest version that works with Wii saves and emuNAND? Is it worth it to downgrade to this version to make it work? Are the lack of features in this version significant compared to the latest version?

I dont know if this will help but dont dump your emunand with usbloader gx its broken and VC games dont work instead dump your nand with bootmii and extract the nand.bin with showmiiwads then install your wads with showmiiwads maybe it will help and try v1281.

I can go ahead and try to use my nand.bin with showmiiwads, but when I've dumped with USB Loader GX I haven't had any issues with VC games. I'm more focused on trying to get my Wii Saves to work with emuNAND since those don't seem to be working.

I don't think that's true. The only issue with the current gx is when u install WADs to an emunand, but simply dumping should be fine. And after the next update everything should be working

Is it too presumptuous to ask when this is ‘soon’?
Within a month, if all goes well.

But for future ref, the answer will probably be "when it's ready", since I tend to keep adding and fixing things until I'm happy with where things are at. And I prefer to work in private and at my own pace, otherwise it starts to feel like another job where I'm being pressured to meet a deadline.

Wii Sports not detecting Nunchuck in Boxing via USB Loader GX but did on Wiiflow? I recently redone Wiped Wiiflow to start again , now it too wont pick up Nunchuck in Wii Sports Boxing.

What is the recommended Loader IOS and Game IOS?

I know Games can be Game Specific but what about Loader? 250 Crashes via Loader and Game on both Wii and vWii.

FarCry Vengeance also crashes just before you go through door inside to save Kade at dock (White Screen).

GC / Wii Games Running from SD Card.

Any ideas , Thanks.

Hey @blackb0x, great to see your triumphant return. I had an issue with vWii forwarding a while back that I was never able to get resolved, and was never able to figure out if it was a USBLGX issue or a nintendont issue. I'd really appreciate it if you could offer any insight into what might be the trouble or how to fix it. Thanks, and looking forward to the new release once it's ready!

Hey all. I have a problem with USBL GX I haven't been able to find an answer to. I could have sworn I once saw someone else with the same issue when I was looking into vWii forwarding, but now that I actually have the issue I can't find anyone talking about it. Anyway, I digress...

I used TeconMoon's Wii VC injector to inject a USBL GX forwarder dol (which I got by extracting it from the the vWii forwarder wad in Github using CustomizeMii) using the homebrew injection mode. This works almost perfectly - I can launch USBL GX with gamepad support, all GC games show up, etc. The problem is that when I go to actually launch a GC game it just launches the main nintendont menu and doesn't autoboot the game. If I open the Nintendont settings at that point, all settings are set to "off", and even if I change a few of them inside nintendont (eg setting autoboot on and wiiu widescreen on), then launch a game, the settings are gone when I return to nintendont via the same path next time.

Autobooting GC games via Nintendont works fine if I enter USBL GX from the system menu, or even via a vWii forwarder made with boot2vwii. In that scenario selecting a GC game starts it up normally.

What is up with VC inject mode that's causing the nintendont settings not to be passed on correctly? Has anyone seen this before or knows how to fix it? if the USBL GX forwarding to nintendont isn't working in VC inject mode I might as well just make a nintendont VC inject instead, but I really like the USBLGX UI and would prefer to use it.

Also, my understanding is that the only way to get gamepad support on vWii NAND titles is with a VC NAND inject forcing classic controller emulation, right? I thought I read once in some thread that VC injecting USBLGX would allow launching NAND titles with gamepad support but everything I've seen since says that's not possible without further cIOS work since the cIOSes that allow both to function are conflicting. Just wanted to make sure that's still the case.

anyone with wii u can use usb loader gx + nintendont?
for me the autoboot won't work. I made my settings per game on usb but when I load the game then put me on nintendont like I am loading the app and not the game itself like work on wiiflow
I think this is the exact same issue I brought up in the post right before yours. I've not been able to find a fix.

This is a newer problem because I remember I used older versions that worked fine but now...

can u find a way to download older versions?

It works fine for me, but none of the game-specific settings work. Iirc I read that at some point Nintendont updated and added new settings which seemed to result in the inis that USBLoaderGX created not being read properly. Or something like that.

there is not much stuff missing from newer versions. The only things that are missing are:

Nintendont extended support: Nintendont basic features still work even with the latest Nintendont release but with 1247 USBGX, overscan adjustment and BBA emulation support are not there, since they were made later.

Wiimmfi support doesnt work. To play Mario Kart Wii or other online games you need to patch the game image to do this.

Direct access to sneek is not on the Settings menu, but it never worked with me on new USBGX versions anyways, so to do it, there is an app to do this.

Hey everyone! I've created a fork of USB Loader GX that allows users to force 240p (NTSC and PAL) and 288p (PAL only) video modes, and I've submitted a pull request on GitHub to merge it into the main project. I've tested out a few games using the new "Force NTSC 240p60" option I added under "Video Mode", and unfortunately, the results I've gotten so far have been... mixed to say the least. Here's what I tested:
  • Super Mario All-Stars (Wii Disc): Both the game and the home screen run perfectly in 240p. This is huge, as before now, there's been no way to run this one in native 240p, and as a game originally released on the SNES, it really benefits from it.
  • Super Mario RPG (SNES Virtual Console): Both the game and the home screen run perfectly in 240p. Before now, you could get the game to run in native 240p with some finagling, but the home screen was locked to 480i when doing so. Forcing 240p could be useful for people with video scalers like the OSSC that briefly drop sync when the resolution changes.
  • Sonic 1, 2, and 3 (Sega Genesis Virtual Console): Only the game works in 240p, and only if 480i output is set in the Wii system settings (if running the game through full NAND emulation, you'll have to set your Wii to output in 480i and then select "Export SYSCONF to EmuNAND" in USB Loader GX's settings). As for the home screen, my TV's signal cuts out whenever I try to bring it up. This isn't that useful, as when setting the video mode to "System Default" under these conditions, you can get the game running in 240p and the home screen in 480i.
  • Sonic & Knuckles (Sega Genesis Virtual Console): Like the first three Sonic games, the game works in 240p and the home screen gives no signal, but unlike those games, it works regardless of your system and EmuNAND settings. Notably, this game could not run in 240p on EmuNAND before now, only on real NAND.
  • Super Mario 64 (N64 Virtual Console): Only the top half of the screen is shown during gameplay, but the home screen does render in 240p. Not that useful in practice.
  • Paper Mario (N64 Virtual Console): Crashes to a black screen immediately, even with a cIOS setup that allows the game to run under the default video settings.
  • Mario Kart Wii (Wii Disc): Gives no signal. About what I was expecting, and what you'll probably get for most Wii games.
With these results in mind, I added a series of warning prompts that pop up whenever you switch to the 240p/288p video modes saying that the modes are experimental at the moment and may not work with all games. It might be possible to improve compatibility in the future, but for now, it seemed good enough to release to the masses (assuming that @blackb0x approves it, of course). If nothing else, it's an interesting novelty for people who like tinkering with different video modes.

I'm leaving it below for anyone who wants to try it out now. You're welcome to share information here regarding which games work under the new modes and which don't, but please don't harass me or @blackb0x about fixing any that don't. I might see what (if anything) I can do about it eventually, but only after this is merged into the project and included in the next official release, if indeed it is.
I am unable to reproduce your results with the same games. Does this not work with loading games via USB? I noticed you labeled some as Wii Disc, so that has me second guessing what I'm doing here but I'd just like to be sure.

Thank you!

edit: to expand, NTSC 240p just doesn't work at all, no matter the game. It has zero effect, whereas it seems PAL 240p works but it's far from ideal on my TV. So I'm not exactly sure what's going on at this point.

edit 2: figured it out, you need to set Dol Video Patch to All. Now it works but sadly not for House of the Dead 2, image is stretched out bad and flickering a lot. Oh well, maybe one day. :(

Hi, I've a couple of issues with WiiWare/VirtualConsole games:
  1. Some banners are missing.
  2. DLC is installed (in games like Megaman 9) but not detected.
My USB Loader GX version is 3.0 r1281, my emuNAND was created with ModMii, populated with ShowMyWads, and neek2o is the mode employed.

For some reason, (1) some WW/VC games (not all of them) don't show the banner in USB Loader GX dashboard. I know I can extract "00000000.app" from the game's wad, rename it as the corresponding bnr file, and place it in "cache_bnr" folder. But it's a lot of work to do it for all the games with this issue, so my question: is there a way to reaload the missing banners from USB Loader GX options?

The other (2) issue is that WW games with DLC won't detect it. Any extra steps to activate the DLC after installing the game and DLC with ShowMyWads? Could it be because Shop Channel is not installed on emuNAND?

Black Banners? It is possible that the banners that appear where "created" from a different emunand?

How long is the full path name of your emunand? If "sd:/<folder to nands>/<emunand name>" is longer than seventeen characters, the banners will not be extracted from the title content and will always appear "black". But this problem is not intermittent, if you hit it , no banner wiil appear unless it was previously created, so may be your problem is diferent. But you can try to reduce the name of the emunand.

Everything done in the same emuNAND. Full path of emuNAND is "usb0:/nands/channels_eu", that is longer than 17 characters. So, renaming it will fix it? I'll try a subfolder shorter than 5 characters, thanks.

Any ideas about the DLC issue?
