I often get DSI errors when trying to view Wii channels in the loader, does this happen to anyone else? I hope that doesn't corrupt my SD card.

Yea I've started getting those since upgrading to the latest version. Didn't have them in previous releases.

Other than that I'm happy to see the app getting new updates.

Update: Tested a few hours without my USB HDD attached, just running with the SD apps. Haven't seen the DSI exception so far. So it's something with the USB or maybe a file on it. But I didn't have this before the newer updates.

I have tried doing the same and it still gives me DSI error when viewing the channels. I noticed that the loader xml file was 0 kb, it seems to somehow corrupt that file so it must be some kind of loader anomaly.

I would like to share an issue (and its potential cause) I have experienced while using usb loader gx rev1281 on vWii.

The issue is that when I try to exit some wii games eg resident evil 4 usa, usb loader gx is never reloaded and wii u frozen.

My setup is usb hardisk with dedicated power, formatted as fat32. Return to in usb loader gx is set as usb loader gx forwarder.

With priiloader installed on vWii, it broke channel grid view and banner animation in game window in usb loader gx.

Even though banner animation mode is broken with only settings and start buttons not displayed, both buttons can still be selected.

To make experience more pleasant, I have the game window mode set as rotating disc and able to launch game from there.

When I launch wii games through rotating disc game window and then exit wii game through normal way (press home button -> wii menu -> ok), the issue surfaces.

My findings thus far is that the cause is due to rotating disc mode.

Thanks.

Hey started modding a few days ago and I ran into 2 issues relating to wiiware. 1. I cant seem to get the pokemon mystery dungeon games working, as they crash with japanese text. Priiloader is set to the region free patch, so idk if i am missing a step for getting them to work.

2. My wiiware and VC games on my emunand do not seem to have the channel banner files (they are all blank when you select a game to play as well as in channel mode for displaying the collection) i added them through the "Emunand WAD Manager" in USBloaderGX's settings, so any advice on how i can get the banners to wprk would be great.

Update on the problem "banner is black but the game loads fine." May be it has already been raised in previous posts, but if not: the code in USBLGX (v3.0-r1281) thac caches the banners truncates the full path of the file from which the banners are extracted to 64 characters. In practice, this means that if "sd:/<folder to nands>/<emunand name>" is longer than eighteen seventeen characters, the banners will not be extracted from the title content and will always appear in "black".

So for a usual setup where nands are stored in "sd:/nands/", the emunand name can be at most eight seven characters in long.

If you hit this problem, just rename the emunand folder to a small enough one. Nxt time you enter USBLGX and point the emunand path to the new folder name, banners will progressively appear.
But for sure is not the last word nor the only cause of this problem.

EDIT -> I have reduced by one the maximum allowed length due to the fact that when you select the emunand path from the Custom Paths menu, an extra "/" is appended to it, and that counts against the full path name lenght (USBLGX content filepath names turn out to be "sd:/nands/my_nand//title/...)

Hello,

How do you compile the project?

I've downloaded the latest source from github . c o m/wiidev/usbloadergx (without any modification), and I've also installed latest devkitPro from github . c o m/devkitPro/installer/releases/tag/v3.0.3

I compiled USB Loader GX in MYSYS2 with make successfully, but whenever I try to boot a game, it always crashes with an "Exception occurred" error.

Could someone help? Thanks!

Never mind. I've figured it out myself.

I have built a version that does not wait 20 seconds for USB at all (you also do not need to press A or B every time it boots anymore when no USB device is connected), as long as it is configured in SD card mode.
You can put all your games on the SD card without connecting any USB hard drive, which makes the setup very clean.

What did u do to fix?

I actually seen your post the other day, but I assumed you'd figured out the problem since you'd found and liked my post.

If Priiloader isn't critical to your setup then I'd recommend uninstalling it until I release a new update. Otherwise changing the game window mode to rotating disc will work around the problem.

I'm having the vanishing buttons as well....I looked up to uninstall PriiLoader and apparently...you can't?

For some reason lately, without changing any files at all, when I boot USB Loader GX sometimes once you get to the main menu, the screen goes black and it throws me back to the hbc menu.

I have not changed any settings, has anyone found this issue?

Hi. I'm just making a bug report for USB Loader GX since that isn't available on GitHub or anywhere else.

Riitag doesn't seem to work, even when configured with the correct files. I know that it works on other platforms. Is this a bug USB Loader GX bug or Riitag bug?

Hi, I have a similar question: I have fixed a bug in the Emunand WAD Manager and I've already made a Pull Request in the USBLGX repo. Is this thread the right place to ask for a review?
