@chr0m

This behavior of your mentioned problem that the Wii drive is not recognized while the WiiU drive is plugged in, is already discussed here in this forum multiple times, also in this thread. By entering our site you are pleased to use the search function.

The recognizen issue of your drive has nothing to do with the version of the d2x patch or version of USBLGX.

The d2x v11 is basically the same like d2x v10 with some additional bug fixes, but change nothing in the USB drive recognizen. The d2x patch has a specific USB modul called "mini ehci" where are not all drives are fully compatibel.

A workaround is using IOS 58/cIOS251(base58) wich has the official USB 2.0 protocol and setting it for the loader and game cIOS. Including the workaround if the vWii drive is not recognized when the WiiU drive is also pluged in. To prevent those issues, use cIOS 251 and plug WiiU drive in port 0 and Wii drive in port 1. A last try would be changing the boot ios in the meta.xml from 58 to 251.

which is not possible for me as I'm using y-cables and need another USB for power, I'd need extension cables.
Correct. If both drives are plugged in the back ports and to power them over Y-Cable you will need a external Power supply or longer cables to power them with the front ports.

Thank you for your attention.

I didn't know that it persists and assumed that the setting was for only the loader. So now I'm a little confused why the original devs didn't add it on a per game basis  I'll be sure to look into it when I get a Wii U.
That would be great! And I don't know either, I assumed it was done this way just because it was a hastily implemented feature and USB Loader GX hasn't gotten a whole ton of updates focused on feature improvements in the years since the Wii U came out, really. Here is a video demonstrating it's current functionality.

It's not so much that the HDD isn't recognised, USB Loader GX looks like it starts to load and then jumps back to the vWii menu.

Anyway, I'll try more of the suggestions, cheers.

if you can't get a game to work, try disabling all global settings in that game's individual settings. I know kirby has metafortress ap, but it may not be that specific kirby game. I know one of them does, but afaik, usb loader gx can now bypass it without having to do anything, so maybe you're outdated. originally, you'd have to disable everything or use a config file, but I still don't know if that's the right kirby game. I think that might be what it's called in Europe without looking it up.

Where is the difference? Does the Wii have extra anti piracy protection? Fort sure not.

Maybe someone can proof that Tomb Raider Underworld and Anniversary runs on a Wii using USBLGX r1281.
@Amuro-san

I have recently updated my Wii to USBLGX r1281, also using the 'new' method of installing CIOS's.

It is a PAL version and had no problem running RH8P4F (Underworld) or RLRP4F (Anniversary).

Hi all, when is the new version of usbloadergx with fix for tintin expected?
A while off yet, since I still need to get a Wii U and address some Wii U specific issues.

It is a PAL version and had no problem running RH8P4F (Underworld) or RLRP4F (Anniversary).
Yea, I've actually gone over this before as I've confirmed that both games work and there's no anti-piracy detection in them.

@Amuro-san I think I've said this before, but the issue is likely with your USB drive as you've also experienced issues with Call of Duty Black Ops freezing during a certain mission, yet I was able to complete the mission with the save file that you provided.

Hey, Do You Guys Know A Way To Remove The Black Borders On The Wii Games? Because It's Bad To Play Tne Game With Black Borders On The Screen. And, USB Loader GX Is Not Like Nintendont, That Lets You Use Video Width Values To Adjust The Screen

Any idea how to get Your Shape working from USB drive? Playing from disk on a Wii 4.2E works fine.
Seems to be an old unsolved problem or am I wrong?

Wi is on 4.1E latest Modmii.
Starting Your Shape with USB Loader GX V3.0 r1272 mod v6 from HBC will show the camera error.
Setting the Loader's ios to 58 did not help.
With game ios to 223 I can create a game profile but then it quits and says turn off the Wii and plugin the camera. Well, it's already in port 1 (0 for the USB drive).

Tried v3.0-r1281: All three options (global, auto, custom 251) do reboot to HBC *sigh*
Does that only happen with Your Shape on 1281? And is that via a fresh install (usbloader_gx folder deleted) or an upgrade?

As for the game, I believe it needs to be played from an SD card or a disc.

Seems only to happen with Your Shape on 1281. Fresh install (copied usbloader_gx folder to SD card) after renaming the 1272 mod V6 folder (still in apps folder on SD card).

Keeping the old version was a good idea, I was able to rescue 1281 after using IOS 58 as a Loader. Didn't help with the problem and tried to set it back to 249... Couldn't access the settings anymore, instead it showed an error with lots of numbers on the screen. Sorry, no pic taken. Changed the Loader IOS back using the older version and 1281 settings menu was working again *phew*

Will give it a try from SD card, thank you for the hint.

Edit to add a pic

Hi all, is the Wii U Widescreen setting in the Features menu not supposed to save? Every time I start up USB Loader GX it reverts to 16:9, I want it to stay at 4:3.

The force 4:3 aspect ratio setting never seems to actually work with Wii games, which is why I use the Wii U widescreen feature instead.

Hey @blackb0x I know you don't have a Wii U to test on still (probably) but in the current version of USB Loader GX we have an option under Settings -> Features called Wii U Widescreen.

This option toggles how the Wii U displays the video appearance between- letterboxed 4:3 or 16:9, and whatever you leave this toggled to persists into the next software that loads.

Could we perhaps get this option implemented on a per game basis?

Many Wii games internally display at 4:3 even if the console is set to 16:9, so being able to set this per game so such titles don't play stretched on a Wii U screen would be nice.

PS: another wishlist item I've wanted to see fixed is how the cursor appears to be stretched in USB Loader GX when it is running on a console set to 16:9. The cursor should adjusted for 16:9 displays and this afaik has never worked properly.
I can't seem to make VC titles play with 4:3 aspect ratio. They always load with 16:9 aspect ratio. How do you display them 4:3 with WiiU?

I don’t know if I told you before but I thank you for the work done so far. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Bunch of Wiis (sold as "spares and parts" since the seller didn't know if it still worked) that I bought came preinstalled with the Homebrew and USB Loader GX apps. 😆

Fact that the Wiis have GCN ports is awesome.

I'm in the process of getting a Wii U, so I'll be sure to look into it within the next few weeks. But it'd be good to know if something like r1272 (mod v7) has the same problem.

I assume you're using Nintendont 6.500 and that everything works correctly when you don't use the forwarder to have gamepad support?

I am pretty sure that is a long standing bug that even had some input by Fix94 back when cyan first introduced WiiVC Inject compatibility with the WiiU gamepad. I had to disable args boot to avoid a black screen. If I recall correctly this occurred when usb hubs or HID devices were connected. @Kirby567fan do you have any non-direct usb devices connected?

edit: blackb0x let me know if you would find value in me pulling together some old threads/comments of testing and discussions related to this. I haven't gotten a chance to try your new release (congrats btw) because my WiiU is still configured with a RedNAND partition on the SD.
