when we try to rip some wii games, the progress bar skips to 100% and freezes the system.
I'm pretty sure everything is set up correctly, her flash drive is FAT32, all the gamecube games are working and we do have the cIOS installed. Any tips?
The flashdrive is probably the issue here.
I can only suggest testing another flashdrive if she doesn't have an external hard drive.
Try yours on her console if you are also using a flashdrive, to know if the issue is the hardware or your setup.

Dumping Gamecube disc is working, but not Wii disc?
or did you try dumping only Wii and downloaded Gamecube ISO?

Some Flashdrives have issue with writing commands.
I guess not all flashdrives are compatible with all existing USB commands to write files to them.

the "jump to 100%" is a known issue, it's because before initialization of the progress bar, both "start and end" have the same value : size 0kb
Going from 0 to 0 = 100% complete :p
It just means the copy didn't initialize yet, but it freeze there trying to get the size to write. It happens only with flashdrives :(
I will fix this by initializing default values with different numbers. % is not a big issue, the real issue is the flashdrive which can't be accessed in write mode and I currently don't know how to fix this without analyzing USB write commands. (it's more a job for Fix94 ;) )

I see, I'll have to try and find another drive to test out.
My friend had downloaded all the GC and Wii games. The GC games worked like a charm, but when the Wii games didn't show up, I tried ripping a few of my games and, well, nada.
Thanks for the quick response. You're always so helpful :D

Loader GX just Loaded them but then I updated it and there gone
what is "them" what is "it" and what is "gone" ?

really, stop thinking everyone can read your mind.
give proper details if you want help.

Maybe you should start by posting a syscheck.
look in my signature and follow the tutorial.

my games loaded but then usb loader asked for a update so i did and after it updated the games were gone so it can see my games and usb but somthing is wrong and idk how to fix this i am reinstalling it RN

so I guess it updated to 1239.
there's no reason your games wouldn't be displayed anymore.

verify your settings (or reset to default).
all should be correctly setup by default.
If you want to display gamecube or wii, be sure they are selected in the 4th icon at the top.

Re-hacking worked. It now loads 90% of the time (no idea why it doesn't sometimes).
For some reason nintendont gives me an error saying "To run Gamecube games with Nintendont you need to set your 'Main Gamecube path' to the first primary FAT32 partition' which it is, HDD:/games/ Fat32 32kb clusters.
And some Wii games hang, like One piece starts with the intro screen but when I hit play I get a black screen, any ideas?

Glad it helped, even if not 100%.

I think your HDD have multiple partitions (probably hidden to Windows so you don't even know you have them).
that's why the loader says it must be the "first" primary partition. your FAT32 is maybe not the good one, probably are using the second or third one.

having hidden partition (restoration, mac specific, etc.) could be the cause to your issue.

in the loader, the path is set to usb1:/games or usb2:/games?
check your partitions in the device manager of your computer (or a partition manager, like easus)

For wii games, I have no idea why it hang.
it should not boot at all (black screen because PAL console with NTSC game) if it's "One Piece unlimited adventure" which require dol patching.

I'll check it out with easus.
I kind of have to reset a lot. Sometimes it just loads the HDD and sometimes it doesn't. Even if I just started a game, go back to the main menu (which is annoying because you have to load GX again) and load GX again it suddenly DOESN'T find the harddisk. 5 seconds after booting a game from it...

The path is set to usb1:/games I think.

As for the PAL/NTSC thing, isn't it region free? I used to play NTSC games all the time from disc without any problems.... or can I MAKE it region free some way, I have a lot of PAL games and NTSC games but also some Japanese games so yeah.

Cyan took the time to move the convo to its own thread. Lets use that one instead.
And yes. You can launch any region games with usbloader gx. Its just a matter if your TV supports multisystem (on WiiU thats a non issue since digital video doesn't works wether it's pal or ntsc)

Update still not released, sorry.
I will make in it two steps (1247 = all current changes, without neek2o, and 1248=neek2o only)
that won't affect any user knowing that, but it will help in case of issues report to find if it's neek related or not.

I tried WiiU version of neek2o but there are more issues (even not working at all...)
so I will just release the version as Wii stable, and work on wiiU after that as not that many users should have access to the beta anyway. it's not officially released and user are responsible for their use.
I modified the way the boot is done, now every boot is setting the current path as "default nand" for neek.
no more "default/temporary" choice. it fixes few games not launching with the 3 previews.

I'm sorry that I want to perfect it first.
I prefer doing things correctly and testing everything before release instead of just doing multiple revisions to fix bugs I added while trying to fix another bug I added by releasing without tests.
it feels too much raw/unprofessional to just commit revisions randomly and fix bugs later.
I know a lot of users are waiting for it, but you waited 5 years so you could just wait few more days :p

Hello,

I am on 4.1E, with USB Loader GX 2.3 r1123, and was wandering if I only need to update USB Loader GX to play newer games. At the moment I get a black screen when I try to load a NTSC version of "The Last Story" on my PAL Wii. I've tried forcing it to use System Default, Pal 50, Pal 60, but to no avail. I thought perhaps it was because I had a really old USB Loader GX version.

Or is it that I need to soft-mod my whole Wii all together? My Wii plays all the older games on my External HDD, Super Smash, Mario Galaxy 1, Super Mario Brothers, Tales of Symphonia

Thank you.

why would you have a Pal console in NA?
why not post a syscheck log and give more details on your setup?
The last story requires ios 56 to run and so you need a cios base 56. You probably just need to update your cios.

Hey guys.

I have USB Loader GX working with Nintendont.
However, I cannot for the life of me figure out how to force it to load games at 4:3 instead of widescreen.
Right now all my GC games load at widescreen and it doesn't look good.

Am I missing an option somewhere?

Another issue I have:
I change my EmuNAND path to :\EmuNAND\nand\ and :\EmuNAND\channels\ instead of :\nand\

Then I change the paths in USB Loader GX settings.

When I dump my NAND, it dumps to the right folders.
However, when I go to install a WAD via USB Loader GX, an error pops up briefly saying something like "cannot read usb:\nand" or something. It is immediately covered by a blank progress bar and I have to reset the Wii to get out of it.

If I just leave the folder as :\nand\, WADs install and play just fine.

Anyone know what's up with that?

Thanks!

Can you please point me to the right tutorial to get ios 56.
