So I installed my legit copy of super mario galaxy 2 from my disc which was successful, but when I try to launch the game I get booted back to the wii menu. All my gamecube games work fine, any ideas?

Hello,

Did you use "" wii backup manager "" to put your games on your external hard drive ??

If you have copy, paste to your external hard drive, it may not work.


Is your hack up to date?

I believe my hack is up to date as I'm on the latest firmware, I installed via usb loader gx, is there something else I need to do before the game is playable?

Get the archive "" d2x cIOS Installer Mod v2.2 "" ==> that you will put in your APPS on your SD, on this same tutorial that I give you below

Then install them (install this version d2x v10-beta-52vwii), following this step at this tutorial(everything is indicated on this tutorial) ==>https://gbatemp.net/threads/the-definitive-vwii-hacking-guide.425852/#14

You did not install these two cios 249 and 250

restart "" d2x cios install " from HBC and install them.

You have to install them like this ==>
Procedure for IOS56:
- in "Select cIOS", right-click and select "d2x-v10-beta52-vWii
- under "Select a cIOS database", select "56"
- under "Select a location for cIOS", select "249", then
press A to install → cIOS. 249 installed

And:

Repeat the above procedure for IOS57:
- the "Select cIOS" window press right and select "d2xv10-Beta52-vWii"
- on "select cIOS database" select "57"
- to "select cIOS location", select "250"
press A to install → cIOS 250 installed.

Then repost a new syscheck report.

All working now, thanks for your persistence, I thought I only had to install the IOS relative to what I my system was. Im totally new to this and have spent days reading the tutorials but its a lot of information to take in!

And yeah, I'm using a pendrive... I'll try to find a external HD with Y cable and try again.

New update here! I found a solution, at least until I get the External HDD.

Since I'm using a 64GB SD Card on my WiiU, and I only want a feel Wii Games (both Mario Galaxy games, DK Country Returns, New Super Mario Wii and Zelda: Skyward Sword), I installed the latest version of the WiiFlow and the Channel Fowarder for it. Now I'm running these games from the SD Card, and works flawlessly.

I've done the following:

- Download the last version of WiiFlow_lite (choose the last release and download the zip file on the WiiFlow_lite Github)

- Download the WiiFlow_Channel_Installer_v1.1

- Copy and past all the content of both downloads on the root of your SD Card

- Create a folder called wbfs on your SD Card, as you should do with a external HDD, and put your games there in the same way.

- Put the SD Card back to the WiiU

- Run the Homebrew Channel on the vWii

- Run the WiiFlow Channel Installer

- Select Install Channel

- Close it and the Homebrew Channel

Now the WiiFlow channel must be on your vWii System Menu

Wasn't necessary any other modification or something like that. Now it's just enjoy the games!

Hello I just made a post with the same issue yesterday too. I have the newest version of USB loader GX working correctly with gamecube games but am getting the same black screen crashes back to the menu for all my Wii games. The guide I used said to install beta 53, could that be the issue or should it work fine?
