Hi! First, a few disclaimers:
  1. I have been researching this for three days now. I'm not just expecting answers be handed to me.
  2. I've searched both Google and gbatemp for the answers to this. A lot. I still can't figure out what's going on.
  3. I've been doing computer and wii stuff for a long time, so it's not just a matter of me not reading the manual.
So please don't bite my head off. I'm really trying here, and I need help, or to be pointed in the right direction.

So, I've been using USB Loader GX for a long time (via an external 1TB USB HDD). Since shortly after it came out, really. I'd set up dios mios in the past with limited success. I sort of gave up on it, stopped following hacking scenes, and only very recently heard about Nintendont. I got it set up, shifted my existing NTFS partition to the "right" just under 32GB (the size Windows > 2000 likes to limit fat32 partitions to, though I know how to make it larger if it's for some reason necessary), formatted the open space as FAT32, and got Nintendont working with USB Loader GX (I had to update, so I grabbed the latest beta, which, as of this writing is 3.0 r1246), and GC loading worked. Tried it with Melee, great success. Although now my Wii Games weren't showing up. I went through the settings, I have Multiple Partitions On, I have it using both USB ports (though I tried changing it to 0 and 1 and trying with individual ports), I have the NTFS partition selected as my game partition at the top, with the FAT32 partition selected, and pointing to the /gc/ directory as the place for GC games.

I went over the drive in gParted, did health checks on the thing. I looked a ton of things up on google (often trying to search just this site with it), and mostly found people complaining about WBFS partitions, which I know are long-since outdated.

My Wii games are just plain not showing up. Now, here's the weird part. I downloaded WiiFlow, and *that* can see my Wii games (I don't see my GC games, though I imagine that can be configured to go through Nintendont since they have the same author). However, I don't really like WiiFlow... at all. Functionally, it seems okay (if incredibly slow at downloading/caching disc images), but I don't like the way config/options are set up, everything is really ugly, and I find game selection to be difficult with them all crammed together left and right of some game it chose as the center for the page, etc.

Here's my disk setup:

USB Partition 1 (FAT32 31.99 GB)
- gc
- [GameID]
- game.iso

USB Partition 2 (NTFS 899.52 GB)
- wbfs
- Title [GameID]
- [GameID].wbfs
- [GameID].wbf1
- [...]

I have one of the older Wiis that first came out in the US, with a BootMii'd boot2 (I just updated it and the Homebrew Channel and IOS58 yesterday).

Here's some info about it.
  • Homebrew Channel 1.1.2 running on IOS58
  • System Menu 4.1U (v449)
  • Boot2 v3
  • USB Loader GX 3.0 r1246
  • Nintendont 3.334 installed
  • diosMIOS 2.11 installed
  • d2x-v10-beta53-alt (willing to switch to beta52 if need be) installed as 249[56] & 250[57]
  • hermes-v5.1 installed as 222[38] & 224[37]
  • hermes-v4 installed as 223[37+38]

If you want more information, pasted below is my sysCheck 2.1.0.b19 log, with my Console ID removed. I'm not sure if that's sensitive, but I figure I'd rather not have it there. Maybe I'm doing something stupid and not realizing it, maybe my knowledge is too out of date, maybe I should be using a different version of USB Loader GX -- but I'd have no idea which one. I've tried to be very thorough with this, but if I've left something out, I apologize -- it was not out of negligence. If there's something I have yet to try, or something any of you would like me to retry with specific parameters, let me know.

I'd really appreciate any help I can get, and if nothing else, thanks for reading! :D

I'm not trying to load games from SD. I have specified that I was using a disk, supplied the partitioning information/directory hierarchies, and also mentioned that it was working for me for a long time before I set up Nintendont. I've also specified that I was using Dios MIOS, not Dios Mios Lite. Still, I appreciate the reply.

EDIT: edited main post to more clearly reflect this. An SD card is not a disk, but I've mentioned that it's an external 1TB USB HDD now. I figured the size listed would indicate that, but more clarity never hurts.

My apologies... I misinterpreted "sda". :/ I guess you wouldn't have a terabyte SD.
If you're storing your Wii games as wbfs anyway why not just use one fat32 partition?
I'm thinking loaders don't have issues unless the drive is over 2TB, but I could be mistaken on the exact size.

You might also check in USB Loader GX's custom paths for the wbfs folder is still set for "usb1".

Ah, sorry, that's "storage device a, partition 1". Internal devices show up has hda1 and so on.

Because I also use the drive for some files larger than 4GB -- some PS2 games and whatnot. I'll keep that in mind as a future workaround if I can't figure this out.

I think you outright can't format a drive larger than 2TB in FAT32 unless you do some of that cluster magic.

The old option for the path appears to no longer be in. Now it asks for the games partition, which I have set to usb2 (the second partition, the NTFS, although usb1 doesn't work either). Here're the settings:

have you tried the buttons on the button bar?
one of them allows you to show/hide Wii, gamecube games.
What!? No, I haven't. I didn't even know that was a thing. I will be furious if that's what the issue is. XD I'll go check and report back, thanks.

Ugh. Yes, that was it. I had no idea that was such a button. I don't know when they added that, but I hadn't updated for a while, and when I did, it must have gotten toggled somehow. Soooo much time wasted, but, thank you so much for suggesting it. Evidently, I was overthinking this by an enormous margin.

Seriously, thank you.
