So what you're telling me.... it uses a more standard signal than the original Switch but still not completely normal lol.Another deceptive nintendo practice.

I'll advise you to open a dictionary and look up the word "deceive" and "deception"Another deceptive nintendo practice.

If anything the Switch 2 is more standardized since they've actually properly implemented USB-PD this time.I'll advise you to open a dictionary and look up the word "deceive" and "deception"

The Switch 1's dock was already non-standard and Nintendo never, ever said that the Switch 2 dock would be different.
Then the Switch 2 was released, and the dock is non-standard. But never has Nintendo advertised the contrary.
So please, instead of telling people to read the article, maybe you can tell us how this actually is a deceptive tactic.
You could just have said "it sucks" instead of trying to stir up a controversy when there is none.

They never once straight up advertised VRR in docked. It was visible on specifically the NOA site for like 6 hours before it was removed. I'd say that was more likely a mistake. This isn't deceptive. To be honest there are some other things that I would consider deceptive, but not this.
Deceptive?
Well... making the 120Hz VRR HDR screen a big part of the marketing, and then releasing the console without any piece of software (save for some small segments of a $10 tech demo) that uses the 120Hz capability.
Also promoting the screen as "HDR", but then it has so little brightness and contrast that it doesn't really look HDR... I guess it can technically be barely classified as HDR, so this passes the lawyer test, but still fishy.
Or the situation with banning consoles that used MiG cards, how this affects the second hand market, and how they pretend it's alright. I am would not be offended by the banning, if they at least make it obvious in some way, I don't know, show a big watermark stating "banned console" in the OS or something so that the idiot that is buying a second hand console realizes the problem immediately.
Also the fact that they promoted VRR through HDMI, but later backpedaled, it is somewhat deceptive. Sure there's more stuff I don't remember now (like not allowing you to turn on the console with a Switch 1 Pro Controller, that's a lame way to cry for you to spend money on a Switch 2 Pro Controller, at least they let you play with the Pro Controller 1 I guess), but they using some proprietary protocol for the dock is not one of them in my opinion.
Speaking of deceptive practices, is that "Sunny of a Beach" following standards on ALL their products?Another deceptive nintendo practice.

That is sadly the norm, and is why VESA came up with the DisplayHDR certifications. Also promoting the screen as "HDR", but then it has so little brightness and contrast that it doesn't really look HDR... I guess it can technically be barely classified as HDR, so this passes the lawyer test, but still fishy.
It is amazing how many people will defend the multi-billion dollar company that screws them, and attack the person who points it out.

In this case, his ego is why it got to where it is. It takes an inflated ego to fight inflated egos.No one here is defending Nintendo. This just isn't a big deal compared to a bunch of other stuff
And Rossman is a narcissistic tool. He's made some good progress towards right to repair, but I wish there was a spokesman with a smaller ego
You may be right. Still makes me kinda grumpy though. Taking the same attitude as the inflated egos doesn't make me trust you any more lolIn this case, his ego is why it got to where it is. It takes an inflated ego to fight inflated egos.
