Ah man, over the past night I decided to grab the 3.9 beta of Newsleecher to try out the automated PAR/RAR handling. Fucking awesome. Definitely lessens the work I have to do when my downloads are finished.

Usenet = get it, grab it, it yours. Not there? Request it in proper channels and it'll get there more than likely.

Torrents can be "posted" fast, but still have to be downloaded, which means worrying about seeds/leechers, hit and run, ratios, etc.
Usenet, if it's there, just get it.

I second the "anyone who prefers torrents to usenet is just too cheap or stupid to understand usenet".

You can't go back to torrents once you properly use usenet.
Get a job, spend the $15 a month, stop clogging up your parents' pipe.

/agree. I know when I lived with a bunch of my friends last year, they'd always ask me to get shit and I'd just tell them to go find it themselves (all they used were torrents and p2p). They'd continue to ask me because I used usenet and I always got my shit fast and got the right shit (no mislabeled bs). So of course, I offered them up tutorials on how to use usenet and since we were all in the same house on the same connection, they could use the nntp I used. But alas, even with tutorials and what not, they were too stupid to understand how it worked. But yeah, once I started using usenet a while back, I could never go back to torrents or P2P (or IRC...ugh..those were horrible, horrible times) and I never will.
