Homebrew US DSi XL on 1.4.4 U... should i really do it?

I grabbed my US DSi XL on 1.4.4U yesterday and started to install Hiya, following this well know guide: https://dsi.cfw.guide/installing-unlaunch

I already backupped my NAND, and i'am now at point 13:

Hold (A) while powering on your system, to verify Unlaunch installed properly

• You should briefly see the Unlaunch screen, and boot into a version of the DSi Menu with no sound
• If you are on a firmware greater than 1.4, it is highly likely you will freeze on the Unlaunch menu, due to a bug in Unlaunch 0.9
• You may downgrade back to 0.8 by running the 0.8 installer as your bootcode.dsi, but you will lose the ability to launch DSiWare with DSiMenu++

Ok... "it is highly likely you will freeze on the Unlaunch menu, due to a bug in Unlaunch 0.9" ... question: Should i go on, is it worth a try? Can i brick my system? Will this "bug" be fixed (soon)? Should i wait for an update on unlaunch?

My main goal is to install DSi Ware. I don't really need DSiMenu++ ... i guess. Should i go for unlaunch 0.8 instead of 0.9?

I tried unlaunch 0.9 first on a 1.4.5u system. Hiya wouldn't launch from the SD is all, I wasn't bricked or anything, could boot like normal by removing/renaming bootcode.dsi. Just use your flipnote or whatever exploit to run the 0.8 installer and it will overwrite 0.9.

Only if you shut down the DSi while installing Unlaunch, which is almost impossible.

Hiya wouldn't launch from the SD

This has been fixed in the latest version of Hiya.

Thanks for encouraging me with your posts to try it: It all worked completely flawless. Installation of unlaunch 0.8, and then the update to 0.9. Also the installation of Hiya and Dsi Menu++. No single freeze, no hickups or any other errors or issues. Guess i was lucky this time
