But if I kept my efuses intact and updated I would have more intact fuses than I should?
If you updated without burning any efuses, your fuse count would be lower than expected, but the Switch's OS can't see the fuse count, so it's not something you're going to get banned for if the fuse count is low.

If you don't ever plan on downgrading, you don't need to worry about your fuse count.

Yeah that's true, I will very likely never downgrade I may never even go online again on this switch so I won't worry about the sysMMC for now
