Hi, I'm discovering the joys of owning a Wii in the year of 2026. Better late than never. Been playing the NTSC Virtual Console version of Star Fox 64 a bunch, and there's this annoying audio distortion that's hard to ignore throughout the game, like the audio is crackling. It's most noticable in the end credits. This video I found on youtube shows it off as well, so I know the issue isn't just on my end: (45:56 in case the timestamp doesn't work) I was surprised how nobody online seems to have discussed this over the years. Has anyone else noticed this or similar issues on other n64 VC releases? Is the cause known? Out of curiosity, I did try the PAL Lylat Wars release, and the audio was perfectly fine in that one.

i bought a wii yesterday and it had 3.1U.I have some questions

should i update to 3.3u i was going to before i found out that trucha signer wont work

is there a way to update to 3.2U if so what

Bushing's semi brick fix disc for your region will update you to 3.2U... Just make super-duper sure you use the right region (USA?).

You can still run Trucha signed discs through gekko region free in 3.3. Also, there isn't really much need to trucha sign your discs unless you are making custom ones.

Another option is to play a game with 3.2U in it... ie Mario Kart / SSBB. Again make super duper sure they are USA versions or you will brick/semi brick your wii.
