I wanted to know if there was a way to play without updating the console

I just bought Mario, but asks me to upgrade the console, I still have version 2.0, is there some way? there is some way to not upgrade to the latest firmware 4.o?

No, the only way is to update to 3.0.1 or go and buy other switch so you can have one for future hw and other for playing

If you're not connected to WiFi, then the cart will just update to 3.0.1. Unfortunately the exploit just works till 3.0.0...

Without updating I don't think there will be a way to play this game (even after homebrew/piracy in 3.0.0)

Yes, you can play perfectly with your switch without updating to 3.0.1 and up, but you will not be able to play online, play Super Mario Oddysey or any game that releases after it.

this is the first time I need to upgrade the console to play offline, I have never been to any other console
obviously I will update, the exploit is not so importan for me , i prefer play this game
I just wanted to know if it could be done differently

Firmware spoofer =/= Cryptokey

Some people don't understand this I think...

They just see the version and are like, "Hey lets just make it look like it's on version 3.0.1, problem solved!"

When in reality, they don't understand that the game files are encrypted with a 3.0.1+ key.

So you still have to decrypt the files, and without the key, you are playing a brute force guessing game that will take ages, only for something that will be changed on the next SW update.
