Is something like this even possible? Essentially, I have a US Smash cart and want to play it on my JPN N3ds running emunand 9.5. I can't access the save data on the cart because it has been used with the update before. Being on a JPN N3DS, I'm also unable to download the update from the eshop (Though I tried getting the Japanese Smash update, but it didn't work), and since I'm in Classic mode, an installed .cia wouldn't work with my retail cart.

Any ideas?

I was thinking that maybe doing your region change, downloading the update through the US eshop, then switching back, but then I realized that there's no decrypted NAND tools available for the N3DS yet... so, still screwed.

You could probably dump the rom and the save so that you can play it in gateway mode.. And there should be a way to convert the rom into cia files then you could install the update using cia as well.

sure, but his save will not be playable in gw mode because it is using the newer encryption

I might be wrong but doesn't save data filler store saves in unencrypted form on the SD card?

Savedatafiler can only be used in Gateway mode and retail carts can only be used in Classic Mode. So there'd be no way to get the unencrypted save file.

If you install sdf on sysnand, can it be launched outside of GW mode? I mean its nintendo-signed code, right?

Hm? Don't you clash with asian

  • ZucchiniMaiden @ ZucchiniMaiden:
@Skelletonike Only if the game doesn't have dedicated servers for Asia and Oceania.

Hm, I wonder if I should get the switch 2 case from aliexpress and tempered screen, or pay like triple from the same place as the switch 2 z.z
  • ZucchiniMaiden @ ZucchiniMaiden:
The Switch 2 is already so expensive that you should probably buy budget where you can.
  • Skelletonike @ Skelletonike:
Eh, still cheaper than the others.
  • Skelletonike @ Skelletonike:
If I order from aliexpress I can get a case for 8€
  • Skelletonike @ Skelletonike:
thumbs for 2€and a tempered screen for 4€
  • Skelletonike @ Skelletonike:
Locally I can get a tempered screen for 8 and 3 sets of sticks for 5€
  • Skelletonike @ Skelletonike:
    Case is 10€
  • Skelletonike @ Skelletonike:
With the discount the store has it ends up everything for 20€ so it's roughly 8€dif

Been trying, semi unsuccessfully, to figure out a TV "streaming dongle" sort of thing that has enough beans to handle Steam Remote Play. The "Chromecast with Google TV 4k" devices that I have introduce so much video latency it's crazy. And I've had no luck finding a good setup with an rPi yet
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
Used to think the video latency issue was because it was on wifi, but nope, same shit even after moving them to ethernet

@Sicklyboy have you tried the xiaomi ones? I have a 4 year old one that managed to work just fine (tested once for fun).
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
@Skelletonike, nope, not yet. only tried a LineageOS Android TV build and raspbian (with Plasma Big Screen which I can't get to work) on a pi4. Was thinking about running over to walmart today and seeing if they had their "Onn" brand Android streaming box in stock. Heard good things about those
