Hacking Update MT-Card EmuNAND with ROM

You can't use a ROM to update as far as I know, only a retail cartridge.

Yeah ,sorry for not clarifying but in my previous post I meant to say that I believe that you won't be able to update with a ROM because Gateway mode has firmware spoofing by default.

No problem, it's weird that the MT launcher doesn't have that even though it's just a clone card.

probably broke the feature when adding the save dumping and cheat menu and stuff into the menu list....or just the menu part is their own work, so they didn't add the feature into their menu when recreating it

With Gateway you can update with roms. You have to hold D-Pad Up (or D-Pad Down, I forget which) when booting Gateway mode. This disables version spoofing. I would advise against this for Ultra 3.0+ users those as this will most likely brick your console if you attempt it on sysnand. It might work on emunand though, but no guarantees.

Thanks all for reply. I know that if you update sysnand firmware in gateway mode without emunand can cause a brick. Does this also apply to mt-card mode without emunand setup?

probably, most of the MT launcher is copied from the gateway launcher, so best just stay on the safe side.....but seeing as the MT launcher doesn't have the option to disable FW spoofing the only way you could really update would be via the internet anyway, so either way you would either update to 9.5 or get bricked, neither option is exactly useful anyway
