No, you can update. It is recommended to do so, because of online play and the nagging.

M. GreatCrippler said something to the contrary back on page 4. Have you tried it yourself? Or do you simply mean that it can't be used to install CFW?

I've installed doodlebomb and it's files correctly but whenever I open the doodlebomb letter, it freezes for a moment and then crashes! And guess what? I've tried it 12 times. AND YES, I counted how many times I've tried!

Try what is in the picture, they work for out of region eshop also, so it should work for you

Nah, I have already my own movable.sed! I got it while I was trying to install steel hax!

Umm... You KNOW I used homebrew to install it, right?
Well if not I'll say this: While following the instructions on how to install doodlebomb I did these things:
-Installed old version of doodlebomb via old version downloader via steelhax
-Used the doodlebomb installer with steelhax
-Installed all the files on the sd card
-Installed the right region of files and installer
-Downloaded the otherapp.bin (the 11.7.0-40 one which is the latest one)
-Opened the "doodlebomb"... 15 times and it just crashed!

Well, there's pretty much nothing you can do with doodlebomb that you can't do with steelhax, so I have no idea what you're doing.

If you just downloaded the version available on eShop, then you have version 1.1.3. You need version 1.1.1.

I must confess I had no idea that was a thing. Are you using the old version downloader included in the Homebrew Starter Kit? And it let you install SwapDoodle 1.1.1, even on firmware 11.8?
