Tiny gnomes will run out the SD Card slot and start eating on your 3DS. Generally speaking, probably nothing. Just run the latest nightly and you should most likely be fine.

Sigh, let me just bite the bullet for you then. I will just make a NAND backup before I do anything so I will be safe and sound.

Just grab the latest stable release, then update. If you have a9lh or emunand you will be fine.

Load NAND backup

If you still use emunand you should have a backup of it at this point, so if your emunand bricks you can restore your backup.

On emunand9 there is an option to make a backup of your emunand.
