Hacking Upadating wiikey

Hi there, i got qiikey for like a year now, i never updated it, used only config disc (1.1), today i downloaded SMG (yeah, another one with smg problem Y_Y), and it updated, ive got this device crap. So now i want to update my wiikey to 1.9g, my question is can i update to 1.9g chip wich never has been 1.9b ? (i got only one dvd), and is 1.9g safe ;p?

yes, you can update your chip. i never had the 1.9b firmware.
i think its safe, all my backups run like before

well this question has been asked an awful amount before, there's threads that already answer it

but to your post, well, you can update to 1.9g without updating to 1.9b, 1.9g contains the 1.9b update, 1.9g is a beta hotfix, however, most, if not all, have successfully applied it without problem.
