Wait, what? You want to unmount the SD card *on EmuNAND*? You know your whole EmuNAND runs from there?

Let me rephrase that for you... would you ask how to unmount / switch the hard drive from Windows?

And, this only works from my tools, because my tools run from an area that is mostly separate from the 3DS firmware.
You can remove the SD card from the camera in emunand, reinsert the sd card, then go to the home menu. The only issue is that your theme will reset until you reboot, or change it again. You can probably do the same with a cia

Maybe, but I really would not recommend doing this on EmuNAND. You're basically pulling the rug under the systems feet.

Sometimes when I use the hblauncher_loader it would just launch Download Play instead of the homebrew launcher. The home button doesn't work, so I have to reboot.
I've been having the same problem, no bootloader here though just homebrew launcher.

I was wondering if there's any .cia app that has the unmount sd card option...
Homebrew apps like emunand9 work fine, but there aren't .cia versions of them to access them quicker (or they don't work that way to begin with).
So is there any quick way I can unmount my sd card on the emunand home menu or is there a .cia app with the feature?
Unmounting the SD card while in emuNAND would be a bad idea. There are still things running in the background that are accessing the SD card and it would most likely crash/freeze.

There's an app called Dummy CIA I found on the GBATemp homebrew archives. Check it out! Might not work if running from EmuNAND but it's worth a shot trying out!

This is actually a really good request :grog:

Maybe it could be called UnmountMii
Are you kidding? I requested this 2 months back or so and was told that it wasn't a good idea lool

I was told that you need the SD card to be mounted at all times while you're in emunand, must be the same for A9LH too.

I even requested an app that can be dedicated to deleting games or apps listed in alphabetical order for ease of use. Nope, nobody wants anything useful ideas.

What's wrong with taking it out in the HOME Menu? Had my consoles for years, I hotswap SD cards at least twice daily, no problems. As long as data isn't being downloaded via SpotPass, you'll be safe.

Well sir that is your problem. It would be completely useless back then, emuNAND literally runs live off the SD Card, and that's how everyone used CFW. Now that a9lh is a thing, we can remove the SD card while in custom firmware.

Well most people use a9lh now which runs from Sysnand

It depends who's a9lh you are using, for example using auroras screen-init and noscreen-init a9lh you can't remove the sd card while on home menu. I know some people have made there own versions where you can remove the sd card but I can't think of the dev names off the top of my head.

emunand, took my sd card out in the home menu. The usual errors happened, then after the theme went to default, this.

Thats normal, If your emunand where located on the internal chip of the 3ds where sysnand is located than you would not get the error.

What do you mean? AFAIK a9lh is an entry point and irrelevant when sysNAND is finally loaded.

It seems I am wrong...time to eat my own words. In the past I was always used to using emunand, I never removed the sd card from the home menu until now.

If it's safe to unmount in the homebrew launcher, I'm sure there must be some way to do it in an app.
It's a simple request, I didn't think about any circumstances, so if it's not possible, so be it.

It shouldn't be difficult to make a CIA. I need that too for when I test TIKdevil, I put the SD back and forth endless times.. Yeah I will definetively look into this, i'll report back in a few hours :)
