I have an old channel installeed through wad manager. Can I just delete it like an ordinary channel or do I need the original wad and use wad manager?

If you delete it like an ordinary channel, the ticket file will not be removed.
If you know the title id of the original wad, you can delete it completely using AnyTitle Deleter.

I was just wondering, is it essential to uninstall the tickets as well. Like will anything happen over time if you uninstalled lots of channels through the Wii but all the tickets were still left?

That means, when you download something off the Shop Channel, you still have re-download rights. The tickets tell the Wii if you've already downloaded it.

tickets are authentication saying you have the right to install this channel eg. buying wiiware from the the shope channel. by leaving the ticked it doesn't have to grab a new one. saving time and money
