Gaming Undoing cheats

I recently installed cheats because I was so stuck in a game.

So I enabled more lifes. But I just want to get past that and then undo the cheats. Do I get my original amount of lifes back or do I have to start at zero lifes again?

You're going to have to be more specific..
Most likely, you'll have the maximum number of lives and you can then lose those normally..

My lifes are now 999 out of 999. But before they were 50 (I wasn't too far yet). When I get past my point of agony, I want to undo the cheats. How many lifes do I have then? 50 again?

It will depend entirely on the cheat and the game it is built around.

In the simplest form somewhere in the memory will be a value to hold the amount of lives you have

The cheat will then hold that value at a certain amount (usually 99 or whatever the highest supported value is). If it does not return to the "stock" value afterwards then you only need to fiddle with the cheat and change the value it sets lives at (back 15 or whatever you want), save the game, disable cheats and then return to the game.

There are however many ways to do this (I said hold, you can change a death interrupt to add a life or something) and many things that might need to be worked around (namely mirrored or hidden values) but they should be part of the same cheat so you can work backwards from the cheat if you wanted.

I'm sorry, I'm a noob. I don't know what you mean. I am playing Bowsers Inside Story, I have an Acekard 2i with akaio 1.5 (?) and I'm stuck at Alpha Kretin. So that's the point where I increased the lifes of Mario and Luigi. Hope you have the info you asked for?

you used a code that gives you 999/999 for both mario and luigi

right now you want to get it back to the old figure?
so what was the old figure?

If you undo the cheat to get 999 lives, you'll keep the max of 999, you just lose lives again when hit

I don't know exactly, but I think I had them both around 50.

next time try to use codes like SELECT refill HP
these codes usually don't give you a permanent effect...

Once again I didn't expect this to be complicated. I just thougth to turn the cheats on and later off again would do the trick for me, but it wasn't.

that depends on the nature of the code

codes like max health, score, lives, stats, money, item
usually would have a constant effect

codes like walkthrough wall or exp multiplier
usually would only have effect as long as they are on..
once you off them.. the effect would wear off maybe by a screen change or etc

therefore, in future is always backup before you try something
