Hacking Unbricking JPN Wii bricked with SMG (NTSC-U)?

Is this possible, currently? If so, can someone name the game that will do it? Otherwise I suppose I'll have to wait for Brawl, or a proper firmware hack.

The reason you semi-bricked your wii was because you have used an out of region game with a firmware update, ntsc-u games are from the usa !!...you need to download an ntsc-jap game with an up to date firmware on it.
WIIFIT-jap has 3.1j firmware download that game and run the update and then you can get back in to your system setting again.. in future check the Wii Region Patcher Compatibility List before using games that you have not played before.
