Oxygen Games™ kicks off the Christmas party season with two celebrity-hosted quizzes.

Cheggers’ Party Quiz and Alan Hansen’s Sports Challenge will be in the shops from November 2007, just in time for the Christmas season, and will be available on everybody’s pet party consoles, Wii™ and PlayStation®2, as well as PC CD ROM.

Guaranteed to have something for everyone - much like its devilishly dishy host! - Cheggers’ Party Quiz is jam-packed with thousands of entertainment questions, all brought into your front room by the eternally ebullient host, Keith Chegwin!

Challenging quiz and party game fans to Party with Cheggers this Christmas, Cheggers’ Party Quiz is the most wonderfully wacky party quiz to hit consoles yet!

Enthusing about the project, Oxygen CEO Jim Scott said:

“Who doesn’t love Cheggers? Or know who he is for that matter? Incredibly marketable, Cheggers is the perfect choice for the Christmas Season’s interactive party game purchasers. Cheggers is a household name, and every household knows he’s guaranteed entertainment!”

Somewhat in contrast, Oxygen Games™ offers up something in a more serious vein for the other side of the quiz game market…in the shape of Alan Hansen’s Sports Challenge.

Guaranteed to put sports know-it-alls’ knowledge to the ultimate test, popular soccer pundit Hansen dares players to face his sometimes acerbic wit, whilst struggling to avoid being labelled ‘diabolical’, and eventually come top of the quiz leader-board.

Sorting the men from the boys this Christmas, Alan Hansen’s Sports Challenge is all about Serious Sport, Serious Challenge and Serious Fun!

Jim Scott continued:

“Hansen is a legend, and with his natural dry wit, he will bring a great twist to the world of serious sports quizzes. Not only is he respected by men but the ladies love him too! We’re expecting there to be more than sports fans heading to the shops for our Sports Challenge this Christmas!”

Party with Cheggers, or brave Hansen’s astringent drollness this Christmas with Cheggers’ Quiz Party and Alan Hansen’s Sports Challenge, out on Wii™ and PlayStation®2 and PC in November 2007.

OMG! Screw Mario Galaxy & Metroid Prime 3, these are now the hottest games!

Was Cheggers ever funny?

...I'm scrapping the barrel but I dug up a few funny youtube clips:

I had this odd idea tabout a slasher film with Cheggers in it. These scantily clad chicks...I mean tarts...I mean birds...sorry sorry...WOMEN were backpacking and came across this B&B that Cheggers owned and one by one he killed them.

I reckon Cheggers could make a good serial killer, probably kinda like how he was in Extras.

@AncientBoi, Yeah, believe you can do PSP games as well. But a Pi5 is much powerful in comparison.

Not sure about other models of Pi4 but the Pi 4 B with 8GBs OCed to 2Ghz handles PSP really great except like 1 game I found and it is playable it just looks bad lol Motor Storm Arctic something or other.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Other games I can have turned up to like 2X and all kinds of enhancements, Motorstorm hmmm nope 1X and no enhancements lol

Waiting for Anbernic's rg[whatever]SP price announcement, gimme.

I will admit that one does seem more interesting than the usual Ambernic ones, and I already liked those.
  • Veho @ Veho:
    I dread the price point.

  • Veho @ Veho:
This looks like one of their premium models, so... $150 :glare:

  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
    To me that seems reasonable.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I mean since basically all the games are errmmm free lol
  • Veho @ Veho:
I mean yeah sure but the specs are the same as a $50 model, it's just those pesky "quality of life" things driving up the price, like an actually working speaker, or buttons that don't melt, and stuff like that.

  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think all in my Pi 4 was well north of 200 bucks 150ish for the Pi 4 the case the fancy cooler, then like 70 for the 500GB MicroSD then like 70 for the Xbox controller. But honestly it's a nice set up I really enjoy and to me was worth every penny. (even bought more controllers for 2 or 4 player games.) hmmm have never played any 2 player games yet :(
  • Veho @ Veho:
Yeah that's what I hate about the RPi, it's supposedly $30 or something but it takes an additional $200 of accessories to actually turn it into a working something.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
yes that's the expensive part lol
  • Veho @ Veho:
I mean sure it's flexible and stuff but so is uremum but it's fiddly.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Yeah a lot of it I consider a hobby, using Batocera I am constantly adjusting the collection adding and removing stuff, scraping the artwork. Haven't even started on some music for the theme... Also way down the road I am considering attempting to do a WiiFlow knock off lol
  • Veho @ Veho:
I want everything served on a plate plz ktnx, "work" is too much work for me.
  • Veho @ Veho:
Hmm, with that in mind, maybe a complete out-the-box solution with all the games collected, pacthed and optimized for me would be worth $150
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Yeah it's all choice and that's a good thing :)
